A image of one of these is burned in my head...back in the 70's, a friend's little brother had one. One day at the friend's house, his little snoty nosed bro' pulled the zip cord and as the wheel was spinning, he held the toy on my bicycle seat and burned a slot into it (banana seat). That little a-hole.
I'm wondering if anyone remembers (back in the 70's) having a black, hard plastic, snap together track for Hotwheels, Matchbox, etc., that part of it went up the wall. The part of the track that went up the wall was encased with clear plastic, so the cars wouldn't fall off the wall from gravity. What was cool is that the cars started off at a enclosed clear plastic gate(?) by pulling down shift levers (a lever for each lane) and you had to pull down hard to get enough momentum for the car to climb up the wall. Sometimes, it was hard to get the car up the wall, but once it came down, you had enough speed that when the car went though the gate again, you hit the lever and it went flying. That was a blast.
Anyone remember this and what was the name of the wall climbing track?
Could it be as obvious being called "wall climber"?

My little brother and I used to get a 1/32 scale racetrack every year. My two big brothers would set it up "for us" then race it until something broke. Then, it was our turn.

    Hey, roadkillontheweb,

    You are correct, sir.
I checked out your website. It is very cool!

  7. We had something called the Hot Wheel Factory. Been so long ago, but I think you melted the plastic in the machine and pushed it into molds somehow.

We also had this thing that looked like a scroll saw but instead of a blade it had a thin wire that got red hot. You took thin sheets of styrofoam and cut drawn out patterns with the red hot "blade" You then took the pieces you cut out and made little castles or boats or whatever with them.

Some of the stuff we got in the 60s would shock most parents today lol.

I had one that was called that same thing, but it had a small "burner" that you dropped colored pellets of a rubbery plastic into. They melted, you pulled a lever and it injection molded this into a metal mold that made the body. You had to let it cool forever though. Youch! I can't imagine that it was on the market too long though... I have to say, it didn't suck in any way being the nieghborhood rich kid!

I bought a couple of these at a yard sale a few years ago.
    Made by Remco.
I took the best parts and made one nice one.
Even built a dust proof box to display it in.

  12. I think I had one of these, it was a purple T-Bucket with a chrome engine and flame decals. My mom has a picture of me on it somewhere.

Got my Stuka selling greeting cards. Mom was scared to death I would kill myself with it. Had a family friend who "knew" how to fly them. Wouldn't stay level - gaining or losing altitude all the time. Death wobble? Anyway, it got worse and augered in. Not as catastrophic as yours. Broke both wings though. Never scraped together enough coin to buy a new wing assembly. Eventually all the parts disappeared. Wish I had bought the wing set and kept the whole thing. Oh well.

I got one of those for Christmas, coolest toy ever.

You could build several different things from one kit. I remember building a rail dragster. Man, that was a cool gift.

About 55 years ago I was helping my Dad dig out the yard to lay a patio when I dug this up. Cast iron. Presumably pre WW1.
