It's in one of the Jim Amos Bee On Video's. At Piedmont NC, the car is pitted next to and also match races the Platt Falcon. I also recall footage of the wreck of the former 876 Platt T-Bolt owned by Lee Malkames on the tape.

    Regards,
    Dennis

Finally got a little paint on the Les Ritchey 65. Hope to have it done early next year.

That tape was the S/S & FX Era 1963-1967 from Bee on Video

apound, that was the color of my '65. Sport Coupe w/ HiPo 289 & 4 speed. Had to trade it in for a 'family' car in '70 when the kid arrived. God I wish I'd kept that one.
Same color as Ron Roots car

You had a pretty rare car. I think I heard there were around 100 hipo 4 speeds in 65? Did you buy it new?

Apound I've never seen a pic of your Fairlane in color that I remember. Did it have red lettering on it?

Bought it used from a buddy of my brothers in '69 when I came back from overseas. Can't remember what I paid for it, knew it was unusual because all the HiPo engines were in 'Stangs.
Think it was early '71 when I traded it in at a Plymouth dealer in Nat'l City, Ca.
Ah well, easy come, easy go:(

Apound your car is coming along very nice. This is a very unique body style. A friend of mine bought a 65 hi-po new and drove it hard till he bought new 69 Mach w/R code. Good Luck rest of the way.. Al

It did have red with white outline lettering. The entry number on the quarter panel was gold leaf.

    Geoff,
Thanks, I have that picture in a book. Didn't notice the slicks were Goodyear. I tried to send you pictures of the car painted the other day but guess I have your e-mail wrong.

  17. I'd be interested in emailing some questions out to anyone who drag races a '64 Fairlane, please PM me or let me know if that's cool. I don't want to clutter up this thread.

Is anyone buying pics off Ebay, I saw one for sale for $9 right now if you search on Fairlane.

I spent a day with Mike in September this year. He's doing fine and just as talkitive as ever. He looks good for a guy who's almost 80. He let me copy some of his pics.

Larsen Ford T-Bolt burned up in the dealership garage, I think Mar 65. Total loss.

    Dennis

I was wandering. Does anybody have any pictures of any of the Thunderbolts while they were being built at DST?

  24. Best magazine that shows photo's of the modifications being done at DST would
be the 1964 Feb. issue of Cars.

  25. Purchased new at Ed Martin Ford but not raced by the dealership. It was owned and raced by the fellow in the attached photos. It is now restored and painted Poppy Red and in a collection in Florida. It was at both the Dearborn and Norwalk reunions in 2009.

    Dennis...

Have you ever seen a picture(s) of the Quarter Hoss (not sure if one word or two) Thunderbolt?? I don't think it said Thunderbolt anywhere on the car like so many did.

    Thanks!
