Hello folks, question? Did Edelbrock ever make intake manifolds from magnesium as well as aluminum? I have an intake that appears darker than normally seen on cast aluminum manifolds. A friend said that it looks like it may be magnesium. I have never encountered reference to such products produced by Edelbrock. The manifold is a 6x2- 392 Hemi unit. Thanks for any input on this matter....MickeyC
try the spark test, or isnt there a deal with battery acid? If it is mag i've never heard of it, it'd have to be special production
Some guys get the bright idea to use EZ OFF oven cleaner to clean a dirty intake,it turns aluminum dark, just a thought.
Or sand blasting with dirty sand will turn them dark also. Try spraying a small area with aluminum wheel cleaner designed for non-clear coated wheels. Its basically light grade acid and will etch the aluminum back to a bright color. I always do this after sand blasting one to get the original color back. Should brighten it back up.
