My Ford has to be Ford powered . But I want it to look vintage I have a set of finned aluminum Edelbrock valve covers but want somthing older looking . Got a set of Cobra powered by Ford wanted some forever but same thing . Want it to look older than it is & will probably run a generator but cant find valve covers I like thinking of maybe getting some early Falcon Sprint chrome valve covers round with tall breathers maybe run some Mercury stickers on them for a different look . What have you guys done or seen that you liked ? Does anybody make a finned aluminum cover that says Mercury on it ? Only ones I have seen that I liked were Offenhausers but they bring big bucks . Any pictures ?

I'm running M/T's as well. I haven't found anything that looks older as of yet. Disregard the silly lookin' skull on the radiator. It's no longer there.....

Not too many choices in vintage since the Challenger V8 was a child of the 1960s. Besides the finned VCs from Cal Custom, as far as vintage you gotta go with tin.

But Mustang Depot has this tasty pair O finned:

Those look taller than all the others and Im assuming they clear those roller rockers? What are you doing for a breather/PCV? Know what vendor has that set?

Theres nothing Vintage about a small block Ford the Y blocks wher a bad motor and nobody wanted the flat Heads back in the day the 289 and 302 would hardley fit in a old Ford you had to use the new265 SBC then the 283 and the holy Grail 327 if you want vintage

i think they are the newer ones, yes they clear the roller rockers, i believe he bought em through summit ! we ran an early timing cover and drilled the block for the oil fill ! we will put the pcv in the back of the intake into the valley

how are they not vintage ? small block fords were around in 62 ! y blocks are hardly junk , everyone was running flatheads ! i'm a ford guy but if i had to run something else i'd take a hemi , olds , cadillac or nailhead over a small block chevy

I like the headerson the ford or any other spread out set up, Unlike the casual SBC just looks un even and clogged up. I think that sets the look apart, I understand run what you can but when you have a choice and dont need a ton of power fords always look vintage. I dont want a cookie cutter rod. Plus there really not that hard to find.
