Projects Yet another Falcon Gasser build

Awesome, I have a rusty 63 Falcon 2dr wagon that I want to turn into a gasser. Your pics serve as insperation.

 

Great stuff man. I love the project. Your getting closer every part you drop on. I love the FE / Toploader idea. Simply awesome! There should be one of these at every drag strip, they add great period flavor! Keep building!

Im almost done welding the floor pans in, and repairing the little bit of rust I found above the torque boxes. Im thinking about leaving the back seat out. when I get some time Ill get some pictures.

 

did you look at the 4 inch drop kit from speedway vs the straight axle kit. I have a 64 falcon sedan i will be doing the exact thing to, hopefully have my build thread started. Where did you get your floor plans from? What size wheels are you running, i would like the same or similiar size without modifying the rear fender wells.

I looked at the drop axle, but I want it to set higher in the front. I got the toe boards and full floor pans from Macs. The wheels are 15x8 with 10.00x15 tires.

 

I've been working on my Falcon the last couple weekends. I've got the front axle in place under the car where I want it, then yesterday I did all the final welding on the new floor pans. This morning I decided I thought it would look better as an Altered so I started laying it out. I decided to move the rear axle 9", after i got all the cuts layed out I started cutting. It went a lot faster than thought it would. I'm really happy with the outcome, It's 104in wheelbase. ought to be a hand full with a big block.

love the radiused rear wells, but movin them up...makes the whole car man! lookin good, i already like it better than most gassers i see

Been working on the Falcon the last few weekends I've got the interior all welded up working on the rear frame rails now. I'll post some pictures soon. I'm really happy with the way it's going.

Thats a pretty long haul for me, but I bet it would be a blast. I do plan to do some gasser shows.

 

Awesome Gasser build! can I bug ya for wheel/tire sizes you went with? looks perfect. Oh and what width Speedway axle did you go with? Im getting started on a 61 ranchero with my son.

The front axle is 48" center to center, the front wheels are 15 x 4.5 with 5.60 tires and the rear wheels are 15 x 8.5 with 8.20 tires.

you moved the rear you can drop the gasser label

 

I'm trying to get the title of the thread changed, but so far no luck.

 

If you go back to your original post, hit edit, then "go advanced", the title block will appear at the top and you can change it yourself.

 

Thanks I tried it and it is changed on the orignial post but the rest of them didn't change.

 

Weird. I knew it worked, and just went back and changed one of my old threads. Thread title changed, and I even ran through a search and it came up changed again...

You're sure you were in the "go advanced" mode, right? Just the edit box won't do it.

 

Awesome build. I just read all the pages. Blown big block, stick tranny, AWB, slicks, should be good for leaving skid marks in your skivvies.

Interesting that the subject line on the main HAMB page is still the original but the first page has changed and like you wrote, all subsequent pages are originally titled.
