Herb, It was great meeting you! Love the way you drive that car - wheelies and all!

Where have you been - out driving?

He needs to go back to Norfolk - I would like to take Ron's grandson for a ride.

1968Fed - I'm not going to make it to the race this weekend. Someone changed their vacation so I have to work.

I'm picking up the generator this morning from the shop so I might get to play a little, but I promised to start on Tanya's 34 Pickup? Decisions, decisions!

Here is where I stopped on it. I think she has collected all the parts.

Well, I suppose I will have to subscribe to the build thread on the truck as well now. You work so fast it won't be long before its on the road too.

  4. I forgot about that awesome truck! Get busy slacker, haha!

Kathy - If you decide to venture up this way, make sure you look me up! I would love to see Tuffy in person again (running and driving this time). I could probably even scare up a cold beer or two for ya! :D

I was noticing how close to the floor your pedals are.
I am building a 28 sedan now and wonder how it drives with them there
It's almostnlike you would have to use your heels to work them.
    Is it workable like this?
Great job by the way with a nasty look from the back. Great stance on the rod!

Brian, for sure I will let you know! I have another project up my sleeve and will probably be using that "one off" blower piece you made for Ron!:)

Thanks, I did end up putting a couple of bends in the pedal legs to help raise them. That way I still retained the correct pedal ratio. I flipped the pads up which was already done in the pic you saw. I think I ended up with 4 1/2 inches of clearance at the lowest part of the swing? It hits my foot between the ball and arch but remember I am sitting on the floor so it is more of less just straightening out my leg and it feels good.

Thanks Danny! Still working through some bugs. Finally got the correct voltage regulator and the generator is now charging. Engine now sounds totally different.:) If all goes well, I will be driving Tuffy to Hot Rod Revolution in a couple of weeks! Look for an update soon!

I've been meaning to post this. I found it on my daughter's Facebook page. I think she finally "gets me"!:)

Its Not every girl that can say, "Yep my Ma' rebuilds hot-rods for fun, what does yours do??"

I don't believe I ever gave a thought to the definition of BAD-ASS until today. I look over at my Mother smiling ear to ear... both of us speechless as we cruise through the neighborhood in her 32 Ford "Tuffy."
    ( What a blast that was! )

Today I not only saw but was able to feel the accomplishment of her hard work beneath us as the engine rumbled .. all of the long nights, early mornings, and missed supper's were understood in this moment. I couldn't be happier or more proud of her..she truly is something special.
    Congratulations Mom.
p.s huge thanks to our Ton Ton, for keeping mom's head together (plus our crazy house) throughout it all. We counldn't have done it without you. :)
    I love you both.

She keeps a profile on a website called the H.A.M.B. where you can follow her threads. I'll post a link for everybody!

  22. That so cool Kat. She has every reason to be proud of you. And another congrats to you for raising such a polite, doll of a daughter! We really enjoyed talking with you two at the show!
Oh, and that badassedness must have rubbed of on her given her latest venture. Be sure to keep us in the loop on that one.

My vote for the best build ever on the HAMB! That is some serious dedication. The theme was very well executed and it appears that your goal has been met of bringing Tuffy back to where he belongs. Congrats!

Kisam; A friend who works at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in CT told all the old gearheads on the night shift about your build thread on hamb, and how to find it. Well, you are famous with the night crew; they all think it's the coolest hot rod, just like they remember them.
