This could be built from a 4 door.

    That is pretty cool.

  6. My Dad drove 4 door Desotos so naturally I hated them. I did like the Desoto coupe that the girl was washing in Cool Hand Luke.

customs should be of original design by the owner so it sounds to me like you have a blank canvas on this one. Time to blaze a new path for others to follow.

A cool Desoto (or any Mopar) is like a cool Potsie, it just not right!

I have seen more Desoto grilles in Mercury's than I have seen in Desoto's.

Could you imagine some time in the future where Desoto restorers will have to buy some type of custom to wreck out to get a grill and Hemi for their resto project!!

I don't think it was the Desoto you liked. I know I wasn't looking at the car.

Dayam ! I didn't think a dowdy early 50's Mopar could be this cool. I can even see this same look with a carson white top. Very cool. :)

    ANY 55 or 56 DeSoto.

  27. Every DeSoto after '55 is cool. Except maybe for the grille on the '61, but by then they weren't trying very hard.

That pickup in the second post is an Aussie-only deal - about the only DeSoto parts on it are the badges and grille, the body is '54 Plymouth - which got used I think through '59 over there. There are other similarly wierd Mopar export models, including Dodge trucks badged DeSoto, Plymouths with Dodge noses, and even in '61 some Plymouths apparently badged and sold as Dodges in Canada.

Rendering is bad ass indeed. Theres 2 super cool ones being built.
One is from the Road Rockets and it is similarly chopt, and the other from The Satan's Chauffeurs, but cant seem to find any pics in my hd.
