There was a pre-party parade in Helsinki on the 2nd of September starting from the Olympic stadium and driving to the senate square. Congratulations! Pasi
Happy Birthday Chevrolet! BTW, This isn't a Chevy vs. Ford issue. All of our cars carry special meaning to all of us. I also own a '30 Ford Model A coupe too and have owned other various makes/models over the years. I like most of the old iron that was produced from the 1960's on back. The fact that Chevrolet is celebrating a 100 years is a great accomplishment.
^ Agreed, it's a cool car thing. Made a little diversion today after stopping by the parts store for some more weld-through primer for the Chevy. Then I went home and finished up one body brace and started another
Happy Birthday Chevy!!! Manufacturer of the best sounding nitro engines of all time. Too bad the performance didn't quite match... anyway...
brings a tear to my eye! America is Mom, Baseball, Hot Dogs, Apple Pie, Processed Cheese and Chevrolet! Amen
Chevrolet was actually Swiss. Does that make it an import brand? ;-) Happy birthday to an American icon!
happy birthday chevy not happy with Gouberment Motors tho they took away the oldest Family OWNED Franchise in CA was purchased in 1926 also have a AAA franchise 1924
I bleed Ford Blue, but congrats to Chevrolet!!...and besides, it would be awful hard to have a rivalry without a worthy rival!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_l5vRVUoyU I had an awesome time celebrating Chevrolet's 100th in Flint Michigan with 1200 of my closest friends, the VCCA! Happy Birthday Chevrolet... here's to 100 more!
Happy birthday Chevrolet, and to everyone bitching about GM and Chrysler being bailed out do you really think this country would be better off if they were allowed to fail? Ford was already mortgaged or sold off due to poor management by a member of the Ford family, so get over it. I hope all three can continue to thrive.
Man , I used to visit family in Flint Michigan when I was a kid , they lived right behind Applegate Chevrolet on East Livingston Drive , I always wanted to grow up and move north and work for GM , but , I was a kid of the '70's , and by the time I was old enough ," Roger and I" was all over the screens , Still have family there , all of them associated with GM one way or the other....thanks for the pic , awesome.
I remember Lee Iacocca getting a bailout for Chrysler in the 80's. I don't remember all the bitching about it, and the loan was paid back ahead of time. Why don't you all complain more about the money that was used to bail out the banks that created the financial crisis?
I'm driving my 4th, even if it does wear a GMC badge and the first one was a 4 banger in a Kaiser Postal jeep. The others were my '64 Corvair and '66 Impala wagon. All served me well. HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHEVROLET!
I never knew Their Birthday and MY birthday were on the same day. That and they did stop making good cars in 1970
I used to tease my ford buddies at the drag strip that it would take $10,000 to build a ford that would outrun a stock chevrolet.
I had a LOT of fun with several IROCs with 350's. Of course, I had that fun behind the wheel of a '93 LX 5.0
Here's a few pics, to get this thread back on track. Let's celebrate this significant milestone, for any company that is still trying to actually produce something in North America and keep jobs from being sourced elsewhere. At least the company I work for is still "Made in America, since 1900, Mack Trucks".
Did they REALLY take the Chevy runs deep idea from the Shit runs deep saying? It sure seems like a bad idea
should read "even supplied synthetic technology to Hitlers nazi war machine in order that Germany could occupy Poland"
Yeah and I thought they stole the Heartbeat of America from "The Fartheat of America" But the question is, When a company goes bankrupt and shafts the stock holders while changing it's name/stock ticker, Isn't the old company dead and the new company starts over? Why yes Virgina, GM is 2 years old no matter what they feed you.
