Pete bought this car new in Knoxville, Tn. In 1943 he moved to Oak Ridge.

I bought it from Pete's son.

I don't think those backing plates come apart. I just blasted and painted mine assembled. I could be wrong but it worked OK for me.

You figure out a way to make it that easy on a droid phone and you are my new hero. The droid just says uploader disabled....... Nobody that I know of has a simple or reasonable fix, that is unless you can talk Ryan into an app.

    Thanks for the pics Jason.

I couldn't find a reason to take them apart either. Everything seems to work smooth after a week in kerosene. They are ready for paint now. Dave (kustomrace) the paint pro will be here friday night to do his magic.

Amazing what you can get a fellow Hamber to do when they need some lettering done....

Yeah, shoulda.... Got a droid instead, not Hamb friendly.

What is friendly though, is that I finally got the correct reamer to fix my spindle bushings. After reaming one to big, I found out that there is no such thing as a standard sized reamer to do this job. Obviously Henry Ford picked an odd size for the king pins. Maybe this weekend I can get this front end wrapped up.

It's in a million pieces again.... Hopefully now that I've got a little more time and room in the garage, the progress will come a little faster. I should be able to focus on this one and get it going.

    Christmas weekend progress....

I built this engine for my '31 Tudor but didn't use it. Also have the Rock Crusher and 9" stuff. Figured it was time to use it.

Gotta box the frame and whip up some REAL crossmembers to keep everything happy.

Funny how the plan changes as we move along.

Like we all know, plans change....

This car has been thru at least 5 different plans.

The Banger plan has been back on point for a few weeks now...

The running, driving, souped up banger plan is on. We are setting the splash pans and fenders this weekend.

    Stay tuned for pics.

Isn't that the motor that's going in the Ford pick-up now?

Is that why you're going back over to the banger?

    Yes, and Yes.

The banger setup has been run in one of our Tudor sedans that now has a Cool Ass flatty V8.

    It's time.....

Really....? I like this configuration WAY better than the SBC street rod you were building.

You gonna use that header/intake set-up you bought for the banger with the 2X2's?

Come on now. It was just weak moment. After we get everything up running and dialed in, I'd really like to try the intake & header.

It's alive.... We have it running. Mounting the splash pans and getting everything ready to set the body on the frame. :D

It should actually look like a car again in the near future.

  22. Right on... Glad to see some progress on the Sporty. Please post some pics when you get a chance.

I know it's totally unacceptable to go 4 months without an update, but here we go.... body and splash pans are on the frame.

See you in a few months.... ;) just kidding.

I've always loved the soft top coupes, so yeah... That works for me. It has been thru 5 or 6 different plans without any actual progress. I'll just be glad to drive it however it turns out. Early '40's hopped up Hot Rod is the plan.

It's coming together quick now. I took another load of parts to the shop yesterday.

About time, right? Now back to see Coker's for ANOTHER set of skinny's.

  30. Keep plugging away, eventually it will all come together. HRP
