I'm currently working on my mother's 47' serries 72, 7 passenger sedan. I've wedge chopped it, rounded the doors, and built fade away fenders for it. Currently recessing the rear plate into the truck lid. Its a ton of roof to weld!

What a beautiful '47 Caddy. I, too, am knee deep in several projects but would love to follow a "build thread" on this one. Also, I was born in 1947, a very good year for Cadillacs and baby boys.:D:D:D

  6. .......that grille will clean up with warm water and sos pads. My 47's looked almost that bad and came out looking pretty nice....a coat of wax afterward will help keep it nice.

I like the old Caddy, and let me make an educated guess, it came out of a Global Van Lines trailer made in the lat 70s or early 80s.... :D

Man too bad the body style is different, I could use that for helping mine come back from the dead. Just dropped off last week, 1947 model 60 special fleetwood.

yes it sure did :). Hopefully it'll find a new home with someone :). We don't have time to spend the day at any of the swap meets this weekend but hopefully a friend can post a flyer for it.

yep! we were thinking it would look pretty cool with a nice chop, bagged, with a nice set of wheels and a nice paint job. sure would be something most people have never seen crusing around!

Well, I couldn't leave this one alone. Gotta agree with Carl, this could be one cool cruiser for someone.

Okay, took a couple inches out of the body just above the front fenderwell and lowered. That makes roughly 3" out of the top, 3" below the beltline and maybe two inches above the fenderwell.

  22. Kool, Funny thing is I went to look at a so called old car today that a friend of friend told me about and when I got there it was a....

47 Canillac 2dr sedanette or maybe a club coupe (not sure the difference is).

And of course I forgot me camera. It is all there except the windows, some kids broke most of the windows last spring! I think I will get it just for parts and a flathead Caddy engine with a automatic.

Oh yah, I almost forgot, it has a folton sun visor on it as well.

Again if anyone is interested in any of the parts, PM me.

    Later

well it depends. if you are skilled enough to do body work, welding, rocker work on your own then it shouldnt cost as much as you think it would haha. Its a project for someone looking for a cool project who has the skill and ambition.if we didnt have the '36 already it would be in the garage stripped already haha

Yeah, I can handle the mechanical and electrical parts but I suck at bodywork & paint. Doesn't stop me though. lol

well then they better speak now or forever hold their peace :) We would truly love to see this baby back on the road but by the looks of it it's probably going to end up with the first person to offer us money and probably with someone who will let it sit and rot because they realized they have zero talent to do anything with it. hahaha. We need a car trailer for our finished car and winter is coming and the money is going to end up talking. So if any of you want the car; speak now :). If you're local; we could probably even deliver it. If you have a car trailer who want to sell....lets make a deal :) :) :)
