All, I am posting this to let everyone know of recent cool experience I had with a "stand up" company; something you dont see to often these days!! Butch's Cool Stuff (Terry) is where I bought the 2 1/2" drop kit for the 41 Chevy. I had installed the kit and found that it only dropped the car by half that. I sent Terry an email to let him know what happened and ask if he knew why. He replied and stated that when you remove/reinstall springs that they need to settle in by driving them a little. He asked me to let him know what the drop ended up being after taking it for a ride and letting things settle. I sent him an email Monday telling him that the final measurement after a 40 mintue drive was 1 3/8". He replied saying that he is sorry and everyone there is baffled and that he would send me a complete refund and I wouldn't have to send him anything back. Pretty cool huh? I told him that wasn't necessary and there were no hard feelings. He replied saying he would send me one of these. http://www.butchscoolstuff.com/store/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=157 What a cool guy/company. A rare commodity these days. Paul
That is good a stand up company and to want to refund you and still let you keep the parts, they get my vote on "Being a Cool company".
HAMB "Cool Company" rule #17 If the car settles to the 2 1/2", you have to return any gifts the company sends.
LOL I'm an honest guy and will let him know what happens with more driving. remember, I DID tell him not to send me the full refund he offered. Anyway, another bump for the evening crowd to hear of such a great company. Paul
This doesn't surprise me.I thought Butch was a great guy to do business with years ago, glad he's still operating with the same principles. Thanks for posting.
Butch was in business for years in Dayton, Ohio and had a great reputation when running Butch's Rod Shop...anyone looking to build an old MOPAR can attest to the neat stuff he built for brakes and suspension...
this thread right here is a perfect example of what happens if you run your business honestly and take care of your customers... they tell everyone. i remember threads like this way before i remember the whining threads when i go to buy something.
Butch is back as owner of the shop - he's partnered with some folks to begin making tube grilles also - they are superb people and it doesn't take much to feel like part of the family with them! I've had the pleasure of working them a bit and can say they are WAY Kewl - http://www.butchscoolstuff.com/store/cart.php?m=product_list&c=7 Check out the new tube grilles also!
Butch is a great guy, I bought some stuff from him about 8-10 years ago when he was not doing a lot after selling Butch's Rod Shop due to medical issues. I spoke with him on the phone for probably 30 minutes and was on his mailing list forever. I would buy stuff from him anytime.
