VERY nice chop! Looks just right.

Looks really good.Love the profile.Just read the whole thread for the first time.And I understand your comment about the garnish moldings.I kept putting off doing mine for a LONG time!

Not sure how I missed this thread. Work is awesome. I hope my shoebox turns out this nice.

 

The fit of the deck lid was horrible.

The opening was a full one inch too narrow for the lid.



I ended up slicing the opening down both sides to make it the right size.

 

There was also some rot in the bottom edge of the lid.

 

I patched the rust, and replaced the center section with a new piece.



And mounted the trunk latch, it's powered, the solenoid is removed.

 

Panel gaps for the trunk are now pretty decent.

Wow. Looks great. Definitely going to be referencing this thread when I start on mine.

 

It's a lot of work to make the gaps right , but it's worth the effort , IMHO . Good job .

 

I ditched the 49 trunk prop rod for two 50 trunk props.

They work great.

 

Next, I cleaned up the front suspension, and gave it a coat of paint.

I also installed the 2 inch drop spindles, and 2 inch drop springs.

 

My donor small block looks like it needs a mullet.

We can do better....




Clean, clean, clean.....




A little paint, and she's looking pretty nice...

 

Looks nice,what kind of oil pan you are going to use?
Nova oil pan?

 

It's an S10 clip, no crazy fitment issues.

Stock oil pan works fine.
