My –47 Olds coupe project.

Wow what a rust free clean car you have there . I wish I could have stumbled across something like that when I was looking . Your moving right along on the build . You have quite a buddy there to cough up that rocket for ya . Olds in a olds thats the way to go . I wish I could find a decent 455 for my buick . How long have you been working on this and archiving pictures ?

 

I definately like where this build is heading,when I seen the sbc in the Olds I almost quit looking but glad I kept on.

Some work done today. My fuel tank was leaking from some tiny pinholes when I bought the car and I use JB-weld to cure it temporarily but now I had to deal with it so I cut out the bad areas and a friend will Tig weld it.






Alternator in place.

 

Moore updates.



Brake pedal and shifter in place.





Exhaust work today. A little tight here and there but the real challenge will come in the rear when passing trailing arms and axle.





New fuel line and continues with the exhaust.



New paint on the firewall.





The weather is very nice and warm here for being November so I feel the needs for taking a ride in my 48 before the real winter hits us.

 

What a great project, the rocket was a much better way to go keep it true to its roots and the Buick is awesome too!!!

It’s been a while sins I updated this thread but here’s a few pics from my first test-drive today. The 324 Rocket sounded great and the Hydramatic shift as it should so I’m real satisfied right now.

 

Here’s a few pics from yesterday’s testdriv with the hood mounted. I don’t know for now if I can afford to get a decent paintjob done this year so therefore I added some primer to protect the bare metal.

Thanks for all kind words. I have had some PM’s regarding my brake line choice. I honestly appreciate your concern regarding the brake lines but these are not pure copper but a Nickel Copper Alloy who is very common for brake line use over here in Europe. I know the problem with copper lines such as they fail and crack due to vibration and that kind of stuff but these Alloy lines are fully legal to use by the technical inspections over here and I have never had any issues with them what so ever.

Stripping down to bare metal = dirty work…

 

Your really going to enjoy that car, I think you need a dual 4 weiand intake for that motor though. Car looks sensational, and I know when your done it will be even better.
