Not the best pic, but it was the shop truck at the local repair shop back in the 60's and 70's it also had a big block ford and tri power

I have come to the conclusion that it's a 50/50 chance to find the vin on the frame on these effies. Aside from my 54 I also had two donor trucks here and none of them had the vin stamped on the frame.

Contact Mid Fifties, they can decode your VIN and make you a new rating or VIN plate. Plates were on glove box door for 53-55 and 56 was on pillar. VIN location can be anywhere between passenger side front cab mount to the crossmmember on top of frame rail. Some 53's were even stamped on the crosmemeber itself. The plates will cost you about $125 and will require proof of ownership and could take 8-12 weeks.

Finally have my 51 running and registered. Having transmission problem though noisy in second gear, may need to replace it.

Finished fabbing up my throttle linkage/tv cable brackets today, and got the 250 6 running. I don't even think it turned a whole revolution before starting right up.

Just need to finish up my wiring, mount the radiator, rig an exhaust and I'm back on the road.

  11. I've posted this one before, but I'm getting closer to driving it. It actually moves under it's own power now.

Charlie that truck is looking pretty good. Its always good when a vehicle will move under its own power, beats the hell out of pushing it.:)

  16. I remember when I got mine running the frist time. I couldn't wait to drive it, so I had to get a 5 gal bucket to sit on & drive it down the street.

I know what you mean, driven my '51 F1 exactly twice, and for just couple hundred feet. I gotta finish the wiring this weekend and drive it over to the inlaws house Sunday night. The parking lot at our apartment complex is being sealed Monday thru Wednesday and the truck has to be out of the way. Looking forward to the drive, 'course the wife will be following in the SUV. This will be the longest drive the truck has seen since the mid 1980's. Hope the radiator holds up. lol

I was out driving one day and this is what I dragged home.
The guy in front of me at a stop light got out of his car and asked me if Iwanted a trailer to go alongf with my truck, Free!

Ps, another friend gave me the truck, but it was not in as good of condition as the trailer.
