Both shows look way cool. Thanks for posting up the pics

Here's a 57 Chevy I've got working in my shop. It's based on the Revell 57 Chevy Black Widow 2 door post body. The top was cut off and rear deck modified to be a convertible. The interior panels and top frame are scratch built. I was lucky enough to find a usable front clip this week, although the front of the drivers side fender had to be patched.

My 58 is not turning out well.
It is in the paint stripper.
    This is the current project.

  16. Thanks for posting those amazing models.
    Deuces, great work man.
Alyn, that convertible is outstanding I have a kit awaiting a scratch built frame as well though I wonder if I'll ever actually get to it. Beautiful detail work, all of it is very convincing.

The 32's are really nice. Is it a kit or is it a Flintstone or like body? Also is the stainless area around the windshields painted or is it a tape? I am getting back into building a few models while I am working on the road. I am building a revell chopped 49 mercury at the moment. TP

Best way to remove old paint is to dip the body in a plastic tub of Castrol Super Clean... Or Purple power..
Make sure you seal the tub once you put the body in there... Leave the body in there for 24 hours and then check the progress.. You may need to leave it in there a little longer..
Once the paint is removed, just wash with warm water and scrub with an old tooth brush..

For 1/25 scale kits, I'd use nylon thread or 32 gage wire from Radio Shack..

Removing old paint...I have used a plastic tub(tupperware or such just don't let your wife or mom see ya!) filled with brake fluid! Works great! Doesn't hurt or effect the plastic. Just let it set a day or more (depends on the amount of paint) then wash with Dawn dish soap, primer and paint!. Mel:D

Deuces,Melsfine39, thank you for the answers. Is there a good forum for asking these questions for models? I'd rather stay here but I will have a ton of them. TP
