I have a '50 Ford coupe that will be painted silver once I get to that point in the build. I'm trying to decide what color to go with for the interior - the seats are the stock seat both front and rear, dash is stock, etc. I'm wondering if any HAMBers have pictures of the upholstery colors they've used with a silver car? Any help will be appreciated.
My first thought was pleated black, but didn't think it would be what I wanted in a hot rod sense. The black/white combo might just be the ticket. Black and white seats with black and white door panels would look awesome. What about the dash - silver or black?
I would go with thick pinstripes dark grey on a light grey background. Or just do the black and white tuck and roll.
We have a siver 48 Chev p/up that shows at our cruise nites with a dark maroon interior--it is different and really looks sharp. My 2 cents---
Paint the dash and garnish black, do the uphosltery black, and have white inserts in the seats and door panels.
Sorry no pictures but...Dark Red/Maroon, Dark blue, Dark Green. What style of car is it? Any pictures?
My 29 is light grey, non metallic. I used a rolled and pleated material from Garys Upholstery in a color called Red Chille. I like the grey with red inside.
I will never ever use any type of gray in an interior, gray is blah, borring, reminds me of the 80s! Try to find a pearl silver vinyl(not metal flake, paerl), with black piping. And theres allways the good fallback of oxblood or dark red. black and white would look great too. JEFF
That was my choice. I always remember a black 32 3W with an Oxblood interior from an early 60s magazine. First it was black then came the camel tan and the gray but oxblood looks so cool.
Dark blue, maroon, black white or grey would be my choices. Go to an upholstery shop for sample cards of vinyls and hold it against your paint to pick out what your into
If its a lighter silver maybe turquoise and white just an idea black and white is always a good combo
Silver, gray is a neutral color...so any color will go with it except maybe another neutral like tan, or brown.
