Wow! From the grave! My wife bought a '50 to replace the crushed '51. Good ideas here but I see a stock, restored Box sittin way down low with a 302/C4 combo.

  9. I used a Canadian Meteor surround and a full size Merc grille bolted together in the middle. I had to use a Meteor hood filler on the louvered ford hood I got. Pat.

I need this center one to find my way home sometimes, because it's twice as bright than the other two.

  17. I'm bringing this thread up to speed again.
Anyone knows anything more about this cal custom chrome trim parts and do it exists more images of this grill setup? Really slick and nice! I like it :D

  18. mrkling..this Looks Great!! Does the repor. 9 tooth (if in fact thats a repro.) fit into the '51 side pieces like that or does it have to be modified. I hate to buy one then find out it is too short or too long.
I'm doing my '51 like I wanted to in 1963, back then a real '54 Chevy grille cost about $20.00 at the junk yard + another $2.00 per tooth!
    Great Thread...Keep it going, I'm watching :)

This picture was taken in 1959 or 1960 ... my car in pits at Peoria (IL) drag strip. It's a '50, of course, with 51 top bar, 54 grille bar and 50 bar ends ... all as best I can recall at this late date!:)

  28. I have the front and rear bars of a '55 chrysler new yorker, about the only thing I can use on it, but it was one of the 3 free cars we got from my boss. I was thinking of doing this to mine. I like the way it looks better than the vw bumper guard creation I have on there now

  30. Setting mine up right now with a cal custom delete upper mldg and a cal custom center off of something. Got it from epay. used the 51 hood but added to the front hood lines so they droop like the 49-50. I prefer the smaller opening of the 40-50
