Well during 71 Larry Lee owned the car, so I wonder who he was?

    Amazing story and small world!

Also if anyone has any pictures of the car back in the day that would be great!

Didnt Pomona host an exhibition of the UFRA on Sunday? I think it was 1972 or so. At the time Car Craft magazine offered a nice, well detailed article on the UFRA. I know in 1970, the NHRA segregated the flatties form the OHV inliners and added E/GD in order to give the flat heads a chance in comp elim.

Yeah I think your right. My dad mentioned that to me.

I'll have to look around for that article.

We took the "Doll" to a little car show up at the Jurupa Spectrum? We still don't know where it is but we saw it online. It was a little gathering of cars once a month I guess.

We wanted to do a trial run before we tow to the Long Beach Motorama since there are so many changes with the car. (how we strap it down to the trailer, our new winch, little things here and there)

When we got there, it wasn't that many Hamb friendly cars, mainly resto-rods/street rods so our down and dirty flathead dragster didn't fit quit in!

Not many people new what a flathead was, some thought it was a V6. We had a good time letting the kids sit in the car and make vroom vroom sounds!

It got pretty good response though, and as we were about to leave as the awards were ending I heard my name called!

Oh cool we won something! So I went up there and the host gave me the mic to talk about the dragster and when I turned around I was handed a plaque "Best in Show"

Wow I was really surprised! Although it was a little parking lot show, not a huge event it meant a lot to me and my dad. Here we were with all these street rods (pretty damn nice ones may I add) we were chosen!

And the judges were from the street rod club that was there!

We are ready for the Long Beach Motorama! And for those going to Eagle Field that next week... There's a good chance you'll see her in person ;)

Here is another video of starting the dragster up. We redid the brakes so we were testing them.

This still isn't full RPM, we are about half throttle in this video.

    Enjoy!

Oh! And don't forget! Next weekend is the Long Beach Motorama! If you see us say hey!

Some fellow Hambers have been asking me for detailed photos and measurements for their Te-440 Chassis Research builds and I am more than happy to do so.

Feel free to PM me with any questions you guys have about the frame/or detailed photos.

We were finally able to track down an original UFRA (United Flathead Racing Association) sticker and put it on the back of the dragster!

O'Brien Truckers came through with this amazing Chassis Research casting it really came out incredible!

We also got the gauge cluster (won't have time to get it in the car for the Motorama)

But if your building a chassis research dragster and don't want to spend unbelievable amounts on the originals these are amazing and very reasonably priced. They are Hamb members too!!!
