i came across this in my collection of musty car mags, it's one i've been looking to scan for a long time. this was in the jan/feb 1979 issue of super chevy, not a magazine i bought often, but when i saw this i had to grab it.

it was ridiculously out of style at the time, but the finish level was way beyond it's contemporary (pro street/street freak) tri-fives. i particularly love the interior, the pink pearl is just gorgeous...

  2. OK then.

I really liked both of Larry Lord's five sevens myself but you can like the other larry's car if you like. :D

Yep. Very very nice. The guy got a lot of stuff right on the car whether you call it a gasser, a street freak, a show car or just a hot rod. I like it!

When that car came out, I thought sure that 60's style hot rod tri-fives would make a comeback. Didn't happen. Instead the restored look with hood birds, grill guards, kleenix dispensers, and all four tires the same size took off. Made for some really boring cars.

  16. x2. If we look back through our magazine collections and memories there were VERY FEW cars like this that swam against the mainstream but still had IT. One other that comes to mind to me was a Brown Olds 49-50 fastback in HRM in 83-4 with a wicked hot rod rake and no front bumper.
