  2. I would love to find a set of 21 stud aluminium heads for my '37 pickup.

Seems they are really hard to find.

Anyone know the reason for the weird water necks??

  6. Nice heads, here's mine, they look nice, but are a pain to keep clean. And as in the photo from "StrickV8", all of the ones that I've seen cracked are always the passanger side.

There is some real kool heads here, let see some more.

    Here's a couple pic's of mine

No idea for sure...I think they say "Smith". Seems I remember R&C doing a story on rare flathead stuff and there being a picture of some "Smith" heads that weren't mounted. This was maybe from the 70s or 80s.

Like these? I just like them cause the thermostate won't slide down when your tring to get the housing bolts started, no cracked housings. Don't know how rare they are.

That's a Smith "Jiggler" setup used in midgets in the '40's. The exhaust valves were in he head, as well as the exhaust ports. As I understand it, they weren't very successful because of lack of lubrication to the exhaust valve train. For more information, check out this link :

Not the most rare, BUT, to find two NOS Ford replacement 21 stud heads in two different locations on the same day IS quite rare!!:D

I picked up pair of original thickstuns, cyclone 24's, i would say the thickstuns are the rearest i have.

    jeff

PS, i have a freind that bought a 32 roadster in 58, drove it for a year, yanked the flathead out and sold it, starting putting an overhead in and never finished it, its been sitting since 59, i talked him into putting a flathead back in it, well he had crancor heads on it and i want to help him find a set, so if anyone knows where a set of grancor heads are please let me know, this will be for a very special car.

    thanks

that first edelbrock block letter head from the first post isnt an original i dont think. the old ones that ive seen only had ONE heater line/temp sender hole one each side, and the neck is smooth at the top.

  29. You don't see too many 1933 Flatheads with original Eddie Meyer's equipment.
