I wasnt going to mention the gold pants, but tonite at supper, I couldnt see them when he was seated. Then when we got frozen custard, we were at the Legends mall and small children were clinging to their parents legs, whimpering and shaking, it was embarassing to say the least. THEN two young men (feminine type) approached him and wanted to hang with him tonite. I had to leave, felt naustious.. hope all was ok with our National Treasure tonite. Friends of PF, say a prayer for him tonite!
I will be going to both shows. Although I prefer Greaserama a bit more. A lot of my friends go there so it is a fun spot to meet up with people. I wish they would up the cutoff date by a year so I could take my 65 fury inside. Not as much fun parking outside the event, lol. I usually hit Greaserama in the afternoon. This year my buddy will be taking his boys for their first time. Should be a fun day.
anybody see any cars and take pictures? remember paul needs a educated escort in bigger cities ... that means every where .. heck his work tracks him with 24-7 GPS and on call paparazzi... are the gold pants machine washable ... ? how do you know when they are inside out? button fly?
thanks some sanity after all hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAhahahaha(COUGH)hahahahahahhahahahahha uh what were talkin about
just got back from greaserama. soaked, cold, shivering, and i killed my brand new phone. it OWNED any goodguys event ive ever been to! goodguys parking for spectators is better, tho. oh well, my bigass could use the extra walkin. so yeah, greaserama for life, remember all truck nats is in riverside next weekend!!
I just got in from Greaserama after being there 9 hours and enduring 8-9 rain showers. It was great and I had a fantastic time. Was very relaxed all day and the place was full of friendly Hamb folks to talk to. I never got lonely even though I was there alone. What a great time. Photos on Sunday....
I saw an actual photo today of BCR proudly wearing a big ass gold chain at the GG show.......so very sad.....
Greaserama was epic. The occasional showers killed the heat and any dust, the music was awesome. Having the drive in speaker system pumping good tunes all over the place works so well for times when the band isn't on stage. Got some good shots of many righteous cars and Rockabetty hotties I had some lettering and striping done. Went into a tent wanting some script and all the big burly pinstripers said to talk to Turkey. They all pull paint, but Turkey is their go-to artist for any lettering. She's 14 and has a natural gift. (not that my request was any challenge). Check her out at Turkey's Pinstriping on Facebook. -rick
I paid my money at the gate of the Greaserama about two minutes before it started raining. Stood under the trees a while, still got soaked trying to look at the cars. The thing I'm getting tired of are the canopies that have taken over the Greaserama, I understand there were more because of the rain, but when it's nice they should be taken down. It doesn't make for a good picture of a traditional car/truck/bobber when there is a canopy in the background. And who let the 1977 or so Ford truck in? A 4x4 with exhaust pipes sticking up through the bed is NOT a hot rod.
it was presented to me by a man who happens to be your bodyguard Who then made death threats to the wrong person
Last year at the goodguys show...I saw a 32 roadster with a knockout orange paint job on it..I ask the guy what color is it called..Orange he says....20,000 comedians outta work and I pay good money so see this clowns car. I doubt I will go again.
Cant we all just get along? Cant we all just be friends? My job is never done, just like omamabomba....
Went to both. Greaserama was a lot of what I would build. Goodguys had autocross of which I made 3 runs at and was THE MOST fun I've ever had at a "car show"! I still much prefer owner built cars and trucks and could give a shit less if they are painted. I appreciated the cars at Greaserama much more. My car didn't "belong" at either event ('78 Malibu). I cana appreciate ANY muscle car, hot rod, truck, rat rod, or motorcycle that anyone has the balls to drive to any event. Trailer queens and ratrods that are either too pretty or not safe to drive are just ART not vehicles. And I can relate to the What color is that smart ass answer, because I got an "orange" answer today.
Question to anyone who watched autocross today (sunday), did I put on a good show in the ratty black malibu? I wasn't trying to go fast, I was having FUN.
Ha Ha. That poor guy with the car for sale will never be the same. Thanks for the help today! Oh by the way, when I was in the parking lot at the Goodguys show working on a car I brought, I had 4 different people offer to help. Wanted to lend me tools, wanted to know what parts I needed. Sounds like real hotrodders to me.
