Is the ass end too high

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Second Amendment, Aug 31, 2011.

  1. Dropped the body on to see how see sits. Do you think it's a little high in back?

I like it. It doesn't have that cartoon look that's so popular today.

If you have to ask, you're probably thinking it already, so make it like you want.

  8. Not to high but needs taller tires, 7.50 at least.

    Looks ok from here
but a straight side on shot would help show the proportions better

If the tires/wheels are centered in the wheelwells and not up around the windows, you're good.

  11. A side shot is really needed to tell what's going on.

+ one more to that. If the wheel is perfectly centered in the rear wheel arch it should look just right when you get the rest of the car together and it settles just a bit.

I am of the same opinion about the rear tires. If you do put on the taller tires, i think the rear will need to come down the same amount as the height difference between the tires.

Looks good. In a sea of slammed to the ground hotrods, its nice to see one with good proportions.

  23. Looks good now, it's going to settle some with weight inside.
YES a little bigger tire on the rear.

  24. Although the rake of the body look OK from that angle, the whole thing looks "Bent" at the firewall. Is that just the angle of the pic, or is the frame angled upward at the firewall?

Throw 16 on the rear with 750 Firestones. Then it'll sit perfect.

You're worried the rear is too high? You just put the body on, everything that you see is gonna change. Focus on the nuts and bolts, you just need to be in the ballpark at this point.
