    Mucho underrated.
I bought a 58 Stude 1/2 ton in 76 from a Chevy dealer who said he couldnt imagine who would want that oddball. I asked if they'd take 300 for it and he jumped. It had a McCollough on it. I derove that truck for 5 years and sold it to a Stude collector for alot more. It pays to drive a Stude.

  8. Yes, I like Studebakers. Studebaker guys as a whole seem to be too cheap to believe, at least the club guys, but the cars are great. I just cut one up in chunks in a you-pick yard to at least save the body off it.

I'd roll a Stude any day. I'd give my left nut to find the 50 Champion my old man had when I was a kid.

  14. Like a Henry J, beauty in the eye of the beholder. I'd trade my 26 for either one in a heart beat, TR

I still have a 1950 Champion my dad bought in 1969. My first car that I drove high school. I also have my wife's grandfather's 54 Stude pickup he bought brand new in 1954.

  23. That's what I was trying to do! But 150 MPH and a 40 MPH cross wind at El Mirage had different ideas.

  24. You know it didn't Ed. ;):(

  25. After 6 months in a body cast, I didn't have any "buffing" left in me!

  26. Just to show it really was in one piece at one time. This was in October of '61. The car had just upped the class record to 154. 6 months later, all hell broke loose, and it was destroyed.
