What is your absolute favorite hand tool? The one tool that you always seem to end up using. The one tool that you will get up off the garage floor to go get when there is another tool that will do the job closer at hand. I have drawers full of Craftsman and Snap-On tools to chose from but this is my one most favorite hand tool. It is small 3/8 ratchet. It fits where other ratchets wont. It has a fairly fine ratchet so it works where there is limited space to swing the handle. It feels good in my hand. And it has proven to be durable over the years.
A medium sized flat-blade screwdriver...even when working on cars that don't even have any fasteners needing it. It pries, pokes, scrapes, and even serves as a light hammer. It is a super-finger, able to explore the world inside a car with blood or pain.
i really like my husky 3/8 ratchet with the head that angles with a button and the extendable handle that rotates. Its a breaker bar speed wrench and ratchet.
One of these retrieval tools for when my fat fingers drop that bolt, nut, or tool and it lands inside the frame where Murphy's law dictates they must go.
long thin snapon phillips screwdriver. ive had it for about 30 years. it been on aircraft, boats, motorcycles, and everything in between. i have worn the yellow handle down. and its from the palm of my hand. that would be my favorite tool
I got 5 of those... 2 dials and 3 digitals.. The one I use the most is my 8" digital.. Got the base attachment for it so I can measure depth..
My favorite to use is a craftsman torque wrench, but I don't use it to often. Most often would be my craftsman rachet wrench set.
The 'Orange Persuader' - an orange compothane hammer with a brass insert on one end. Wish I could find another but they stopped making them....
old 1/2 to 9/16 craftsman short boxend.....can't even hardly see the logo anymore..worn so smooth from many years of use
S-K 1/4 drive flex head ratchet. Handy little basitd. Second place would be my 3oz hammer. Like McGee says, " handier than pockets on a shirt"
Love my chrome Snap On 6pt combination wrenches. my black 12 pt wrenches work great when I need some more freedom of movement but when I drop one, they tend to be harder to find......
my ratcheting snap-on screwdriver---have 4 of them----then my 1/4 '' snap-on hand ratchet with the hard orange handle http://www.google.com/imgres?q=snap...4&tbnw=190&start=0&ndsp=13&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0 http://www.google.com/imgres?q=snap...5&tbnw=232&start=0&ndsp=10&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0
Vise grips, then my iPad for looking at the hamb. I've learned more here in the last couple years then I could have ever dreamed of.
Snap-On ratcheting screw driver... my dad bought it for me... Freaked out once when i couldn't find it and remembered I set it on the cowl of a car in the junkyard earlier that day... drove back to the yard and it was still there!!
