As they say , flames are a subjective art, some like 'em , some don't . Who cares as long as you , the owner like them . I've been doing flames on cars , boats and bikes for over 20 years and some I liked and some I did'nt. The importent thing is that the customer liked them, after all he's writimg the check . I'd say that for your limited experiance ,you did very well . Keep on doing them and you'll find that as your skills improve , your overall tastes will change over time . Good luck .

Looks good. I have always wanted to start a website or book dedicated to BAD flame jobs I see at shows. There is a car that is always at the Macungie Wheels of Times show in PA that the flames look like a dead oak tree that has been cut down and is laying on the ground. Just horrible. I will get a picture at this year's show if I can.

Has there ever been a thread on the HAMB dedicated to bad flame jobs? If not we should start one.

I've always liked flame jobs...There are many different styles and colors.....They are very open to a person's particular tastes and likes......This one flame job on a coupe I saw at a show recently took the cake though......It was airbrushed and wow, so realistic....In my opinion, the best flame job I ever saw on a car.....

Yep..You got it right! The key will be how the front sheet metal is colored and works with the body. Example, hood top and shell black then they look like they're coming out of the engine bay. The comment on matching the engine color is a good one.

sorry man, I wasnt talking about those pics....but thanks for resizing anyway
I was stating that the flames on the first post were a little too big....but still look great...If I was doing them I would have closed the gap between the flare out of each flame and I would have staggered them....long on the top, and so on.....but great classic job.:)

They look great, on a different note, l I like the idea of a thread forbut bad flames. Purely for entertainment, as I am not one of the guys that pick others cars apart.

  17. The answer is there is no right or wrong with flames, I hate 90% of one color flames and cross overs are cool as hell.
