Customs WTF ! I got a warning for loud exhaust !

My 64 Marauder has no mufflers on it but it has 12 feet of pipe after the manifold (at least) it sounds mad as hell but unless I really really get on it its not that loud at all. I would never run a 3 foot pipe out of a FE that would be just nasty loud.

your neighbor is lucky, i have some neighbors from south of the border, across the street from me, they have 3 full size trucks with straight pipes & all 3 like to let there truck idle for 10-15 minutes even when is 102 out side, 2 ricers who redline their 4 cly civics down the street at all hours & a wanna be biker right next door who likes to start his harley at either 5:30am 3:30 am or 1:30 am & his driveway is about 15 feet from our bed rooms & theres no set day on which time hes libel to start his harley

Meh, If you think your car is to loud it most likely is, not rocket science. Change it or take your chances. Here in ontario it's the discretion of the officer if it's to loud. So I make the car sound how I like it with in reason. Loud is loud Bike, Car ,Chainsaw , Weed wacker, Fart pipe. Some sound better then others to me, Loud blown FE sweet!!!! fat guy 2 doors down with his Chainsaw not so much. Fat guy down the road is not gonna go away I'm sure. Move or try to get along with them.

 

i run my 77 f100 with a built 390 with just open headers and never had anyone say anything about it.i only ran it like that till i got the pipes for it and the glasspacks.

 

Loud and SLOW have never been cool.

X2 well said, and also only a "stick up the ass cop" would issue a ticket on a classic car with loud exhaust.

 

im going to the harley shop and getting t-shirts and stickers that say"loud pipes say lives" my car is no louder that those bikes...

 

He was probably thinking the car sounded awesome and wishing his wife would let him have one.

 

rob if they come over again run them off and call the cops! if you do put some mufflers on don't forget the cutouts dude, the open those bastards up when you roll out of the shop and close them up when ya need to like when 5-O is around. really sweet ford dude!
