The Bell Aircraft YFM-1 "Airacuda," built by Bell Aircraft in the late '30s to shoot down attacking bombers...it had gunner positions in front of the pusher engines, but did not get beyond a few prototypes....

I agree probably a display for the latest model. We had a very good friend of the family that had the Beatty appliance franchise in Edmonton, Alberta that used to display vintage appliances to show how far technology had advanced.He did these displays for the Edmonton Ex and later Klondike days. Later in his career he did the same for Maytag. As a kid I would go with him when he was setting up his displays. I remember his collection of old appliances

You're joking, right? Ever heard of Ak Miller and the El Caballo hot rod/sports car? Max Balchowsky and Old Yeller? There are boat loads of such "crossovers" if you care to do some research.

THANKS for mentioning Red Foley! Anybody remember the
Saturday-night country music TV show he MC'd? He had a
LOT of folks from the Op'ry on there, and the mood was always
upbeat. This was along about '57 to '59, and Ford pickups
and "Kaiser" Jeep were two of the sponsors. I just can't re-
member for the life of me the name of the show. "Saturday
Night Barn Dance," maybe??? That's a wild-a---guess!

Reminders of how obsolete US military aviation was in the late 1930s...The twin-engine bombers are Douglas B-18 Bolos, poorly armed, small bomb load, short range, but Congress almost required the Air Corps to buy these over the 4-engine B-17s. The fighters are Republic P-35s, also obsolete by the time of Pearl Harbor.
