    day 6
we got the front suspension all in and welded up, just need to make shock towers, and the bag brackets. i also finished up the pan hard bars and links. still need to do up the rear shocks

also pulled the axles out of the 9" again, i wanted to have the axles drilled for small ford pattern, to open up wheel options in the future.

Hey ryno I got a couple questions. Is this a homemade crossmember kit or manufactured and what is the distance between the top of your spring hat to the center of the lower CA mounting bolt? Looking really good so far and cant wait to see the finished project!!

Very nice! not sure what your plans are for mounting the bucket seats but i repro the ranger bucket seat brackets that will fit your floor and seat tracks....

i know... someone with your skills can make brackets real quick but thought i would let you know.

mine are lazer cut and very well made. pics in my album.

its a kit from jw garage i believe, my buddy is a dealer for them. it's decently priced, definitely not the nicest, but plenty good enough for what im doing here, i mean it has 2 arms and a spindle with some brakes, good enough for me!

i measured the distance for you, but forgot the exact measurement, i believe i hooked the top of the hat at the frame rail, down to the cl of the lower a arm bolt and it was 10 1/8"....

thanks, my body is paying for all the 16 plus days.

pm me some more info and prices, sometimes it just doesn't make sense to make something if it can be bought, skills or not, time is money!

Well not sure if you had seen the thread that I started about a week or so ago but it was about front end geometry on a '66 F100 with a MII frontend. I'm having problems as far as it being twitchy and the PO had installed a Fatman crossmember kit and the measurement on it was right at 10 inches. And according to ELpolacko here on the hamb, that measurement should be in the 8.5 inch range. Evidentaly it screws up the caster when the control arms are spread apart that far. I'm really interested in seeing how yours turns out. I am going to check my P/S pump and rack as its got a chevy pump and ford rack which, if the rack is the earlier design MII style can cause twitchyness whereas the later style T-bird rack will work with the chevy pump. Anyway just thought I'd pass this on.

It would be nice if Steve built the Dakota crossmember again.
I kick myself for not buying one when they were being made before.
