I'm starting to get that crazy look in my eye about this event. Thinking about using my car for something like this. Just need to talk my buddy with a trailer into going with me. I wouldn't be putting on much of a show, but it sounds like fun.

 

Hell ya Dave it's all about getting together and making some passes. Thinking about making a gear swap before hand to carry a bit more speed on the big end. 60' time should improve with the trans-brake........STOKED!!!!!!!!!!

I hope I have not overlooked the answer already, but just to be 100% clear... will this be honest to goodness real drag racing?

Just asking cause most seem to be bracket racing nowadays and that just sucks!

 

Hoping to be there, pending a few things that need to be worked on. I had the greatest time at the Meltdown. Looking forward to it!

How "technical" will the tech inspection be? I passed OK at Byron, so I assume that I'll pass OK at Cordova???

 

I would think that it will be similar.

 

Hey, we would love to come, our hero Arnie "The Farmer" Beswick's home track. Unfortunately it is also our home town car show sponsored by the local American Legion.

 

Tech for cars that are running faster than 14 seconds will be more strict than cars like mine....
I have a stock '35 Ford and it will NOT be going that fast down the track.
I asked what the tech would be for me -
lap belts
no shoulder harness needed

roadsters must wear helmets

no sandals
no shorts
no muscle shirts
short sleeve shirts are ok

If you passed inspection at Byron or Union Grove - you will pass at Cordova

 

Maybe we could swap.
I like the stance of your car, maybe you could help me raise mine in the back.

weather is looking amazing - heat index of 90 (yeah yah that is too hot....whatever) at least it is not rain.....
if ya'll recall - we had rain til about noon at the Meltdown drags and we STILL got in a ton of runs at the track!!!!

we hope you will come out and support the event - it is all about having a fun time and getting your cars to make passes at the legendary Cordova Dragway!!
Doesn't matter if you go from 0-60 in 18 seconds.......
or (like me) you dont even reach 60MPH! Just take em out there and have fun!

UPDATE:
The Krank Daddies will play at 5PM and 3 on the Tree will play at 9pm

 

Are spectators parking in the south lot? Or will everyone be coming through the pit entrance? Just asking because they didn't used to open up the south lot for a whole lot of things besides the Series.

 

Ill be leaving about 11 11:30 from Sycamore! Wooo!

It's not the Meltdown for nothin!

I've got the Henry J back in its street clothes. Hoping it will make the drive tomorrow. Not going to race, just showing it and setting up next to it. Gasser screen prints for sale. 1st in a series.

The rearend needs some attention after running at the Meltdown. Clutches in my posi are nearly smoked.

This will be my first time going to Cordova.
