    I noticed that Bonneville was on alot of peoples list ... in 1988 I drove an O/T but classic American car that I bought while stationed in England and had shipped back to the U.S of A. from San Diego back to Lowry AFB, Colorado. I didn't plan too many stops, but Bonneville was one of them. What surprised me was that you could just drive out on the salt and go for it. That was one of if not the C:cool::cool:Lest things I have ever done. I wonder if you can still do that ??!!!???

  2. Well you already do; I don't know about the dick part but I am sure I can check that out for ya. :D

    I would like to just finish what I have. Time just slips away with a young family. Building the 1936 Ford I have stashed away with my son is something I daydream about all the time. He's only 3 years old now. Watching him learn and surpass my abilities in the garage will be heart-warming. Oh yeah, I also wanna do a wheel-e in my Chevy II wagon....

    Great thread................here is my short list;

    Do some solid low 9's or maybe high 8's in my Maverick with a carb

    Drive a car at Bonneville
    Race a GT-3 racecar at Laguna Seca or Sears Point
    Finish building my 289ci flathead and put it into an open dragster and turn low 11's or high 10's

    Drive across Canada or the US with mine. Possibly way down into South America if I can. I was about to do that last year on my bike, but had too much on my plate to take a few months off and go down to SA. Doing that in a hot rod would be infinitely cooler.

    Also - Get some serious (race) track time with my '38 Chevy half ton. I know it sounds dumb but it handles awesome on its S10 frame and stiff suspension. Quite a fast little truck too.

  26. Your South America trip is going to take some real timming it is over 300 miles across the Dariun Jungle in Central America. The road is iffy and not much more than a wide trail in places during the dry season and pretty much non existant during the wet season. The only place on the Pan American highway that is nearly impassable.

    Not to rain on your parade just for information only.

  27. Only a dream: Move to New Mexico, set up a studio and do Automotive Art. Any rodders from HAMB driving Rt. 66 can stop on by my studio...I'll have a cold one waiting for you.
