Povertyflats, we're staying at the Econolodge at I-70 near the host motel. How do we get out to the garage crawl Thursday night? We went last year but all I remember was that we took I-70 west to I-35 south as short way and then headed west on a two lane. I'd appreciate some directions. Sam

Old Fart, thanks for the directions. We are leaving central Missouri tomorrow morning. We are going to run hwy 54 and enjoy rural Kansas and some Americana. We'll cut north and west on section roads somewhere that will bring us to I-135 north of Wichita near McPherson. Last year we came across Hwy 56. We're all looking forward to a good road trip. See ya there. Sam

Once you hit 135, you can go west a couple of miles & come up to Salina on old 81 too :)

I'm ready to go. The Merc looked like a barn find yesterday, got her clean'd up,
gas'd up and ready for the drive.

We are leaving Dewey at 6:30 going up hwy 99, I love driving through the flint hills.
Then hwy 400 to hwy 77 until we get to hwy 15 to McPherson. We have a blast
driving the back roads, I would encourage others to do the same. Salina is very kool
but the drive up is a close second.

    Happy Trails, Mick

  10. We are on the road headed east!

To the folks coming from the east, i70 has been shut down for 3 hours from roughly topeka to KS99 due to some sort of armed stand off. Highway 24 is the suggested detour, that's all the info I have heard so far. KS4 will also take you from Topeka to KS99. And back too I 70 but it has some slow corners. Safe Travels.

Wonder if Jerry would let us pool our money & pay entry for one of my buddies in his beer delivery truck...

  20. Thanks, but I have to drop the kids off in the morning so I won't be on the road until 6:30.

Any chance that PovertyFlats or Travis could arrange to have an ice delivery truck accidentally, wink wink, shift its load into that giant cee-ment pond in the middle of the park?

Itchin' to hit the road Thursday. Stop by and buy. I'll have a trunk load of shiny stuff in a 10x10 swap spot on Friday. 50, 51-52 Plymouth grills, wheelcovers, taillights, spotlights, etc... The more you buy, the less I bottom out on the way home.

Nothin' could be finah' than to make it to Salina

Bill, a guy also in a straw hat,

(that's weird, Oh, and I suppose you'll all be wearing a white car t-shirt too!

    I am so bummed.
As of right now it looks like me and my son/n./law won't make it. With all of the wet weather we had recently it put his concrete jobs behind and it looks like a large concrete pour this weekend is gonna happen. but If it rains real hard again ya never know...John
