Current photos of modern day "Nostalgia" race cars

wow, i remember this picture or one like it from my child hood. please tell me this is a old picture..

also, one thing iv notice.. seems hemi ruled the strip. i grew up where 4x4s ruled.. not much for a street car so i never got into drag racing.. way to late for me now.. but, it sure is fun looking.

thanks for bringing back some memories even if it turns out to be my imagination. lol


the video about the UFO is off the shelf, we seen some crazy stuff here in az.. but i cant say i believe in UFOs

 

thanks, i was worried there for a minute ! they got them long noses and them ground effects that dont look right.

 

They aren't nostagia cars at all. They suck. Long snouts, super narrrow, aero, they suck! I wouldn't watch them if they were running in my back yard...

its pretty obvious that its not. The helmet, blower restraint straps, starter bracket to name just a few.

Oh yes, and lets not forget the humungous Red Line Oil sign in the background.

 

My Friend Ron just restored this 41 Chevy gasser, it was a nhra record holder in the mid 50's. Still has the original 57 truck axle and a 10% set back on the motor.

 

the photo of pure hell is the longer wheelbase version built by dave uyehara in the mid 90's...larry huff at the wheel. usually qualified and ran in top fuel at the time!!
