Aloha To All, <O</O <O></O>I just wanted to share with you a project that I’ve been working on for a while that I finally completed about a month ago. It’s an all steel 1932 Ford roadster pick up. Because these are so rare (Ford only built 593), I didn’t want to stray away from its originality, however, I’m a hot rodder by heart and can’t leave well enough alone. I finally decided to do a lightly modified ‘40’s style. Yeah I know I’m supposed to remove the fenders, the windshield, and a bunch of other stuff, but I was too chicken to go “hardcore” on this one. I thought it would be cool to keep all the original stuff on to separate it from the Brookville bodies and the other “mystery” trucks out there that have had their roofs cut off to make them look like roadster pick-ups (not that there is anything wrong with them, I'm just speaking in terms of what I wanted for my truck). The engine is the original 4 banger with a tri-power set up, with a “high compression” Windfield aluminum head & custom Red’s Headers. I was told that in the 40’s they used the same size tires all around, so I kept all the tires the same size on ’35 Ford 16” wires. I “lowered” the truck by reversing the eyes and used lowering shackles. Even the interior was made to look like 40’s style with the larger pleats. Well the result is what you see…..Did I pass??<O></O>
Oooo! I like it. That's how I would like my '30 pick-up to look. Keeping the fenders but still a mild '40s styled hop-up.
Oh, I think you definitely get high marks for that Deuce. The trips on the four banger are awesome. IMHO, that's a real meaningful comment from Dean, who had one of the sweetest RPU's of all time.
really cool lookin' truck, like the side boards ,i can smell the smoke and it ain't off the tires,i'm with the rest of the guy's on the rubber rake ,but maybe you need the front end up to get her back in the field at harvest time 'ha ha !!
Thanks for all the approvals & compliments!!! I did a lot of research on the HAMB while building the truck and getting the thumbs up from you guys means a lot..... I was REALLY on the fence on the tires also. The one reason I didn't change the fronts was because I got these tires as a set and they are brand new. I hate to waste them as well as clog my garage with yet another set of tires. Combine that with shipping stuff to Hawaii....$$$$, ok so that's my excuse....*LoL* I will bite the bullet and do it if I end up keeping the truck.
I love it!! Especially the four banger hotrodded and the side panels showing it. Yea. you passed. Hows a B+ sound.
Nothing wrong with fenders on a hot rod......Historically speaking most street cars in the '40s-'50s had fenders because most states had fender laws. If you did not want to be hassled by the police constantly and risk a ticket you would run the stock fenders, bobbed fenders, or cycle fenders to be street legal. Sure if you were at the dry lakes you would pull them off to save weight and improve aero dynamics, however if it was a street car the fenders were back on for the drive home.
Somebody is using your photos for an ebay scam: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1932...0847917?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item20bb45812d They have a buy it now of 9K .... I submitted this to the ebay fraud team.
Great catch! Hopefully Ebay does something other than delete the listing as people that do this need to be incarcerated.
