In the 70's in Gadsden, Al. we cruised the mall and then over to Wendys and Burger King. That was the crusin route. I was usually in my 67 Camaro that I still have and sometimes in the:cool: 40 Ford Coupe that I had at the time.

  2. I was there in the late 60's cruizin El C from SF to SJ. What about Fruitvale in Oak town? The A&W in Redwood City or was that San Carlos? Did you ever see a jacked up 67 GTO with a chrome straight axle?

All of my cruising was pretty much in the south bay and I was about 7 years old in the late '60s, so I don't remember seeing a that GTO. Sounds like my kind of car, though.

When I was in jr. high school in the mid '70s, there was a guy who lived down the street from my best freind named Frank Streeter (appropriate name) with a gray primer '66 Chevelle, straight axle, Cragar SS mags, tilt front end, BBC with fender well headers and a 4 speed. We would drool as we watched that car come and go all day long from my buddy's front yard. He usually wore a white T shirt and jeans, if he had a Hawaiian shirt on when he passed by, we new it was a date night.

In the late 60's and early 70's it was cruise to Somersworth,Nh then to Dover,Nh and on to Portsmouth,Nh and Make the return trip Back over the stateline to Maine and home. I had a Used 66 SS 396 in 67 and then ordered a new ss396 in 70. I put about 95,000 miles on the 70 in 4 years. Wish I had then now. BUt I am liking my current coupe project a lot.

Hwy 100 mostly and 27th in Milwaukee It was a 45 min drive to cruise all nite and drive 45 min home every weekend. Thats when gas was cheap.

  12. Main Street in Yreka, CA (aka Highway 99) in the 1960's. Oberlin Road was the preferred drag strip location, with a clearly marked quarter mile.

Main Street/High Street in Hamilton Ohio (same street just changed names when it crossed the river) and Route 4 which crossed High. We would go from one end of town to the other between the two shopping centers in town. The cops eventually shut us down by driving around in their personal cars and telling the "cruisers" to not come back to the shopping center that night.

Graduated Auburn High School in Auburn WA in 1963. Locally we cruised Aubutn from the A&W to Cubby's Drive-In. Some good times. when we ventured out of town it was usually to the Renton Loop or Golden Gardens. Cruised in as 49 Ford Coupe, 55 Chev and later after a stint in the USMC in a Model A Roadster.

cruised all eat n parks in and around the pittsburgh pa, looking for street races 1964 to 1970

  26. No street or city. For me it was a park, Como Park in Lancaster, New York. This was the "hotspot" for many car people and partiers in Western New York. This park was so famous, or infamous, that the media once dubbed it "the hundred acre bar".
