Well I have had both and currently have a 3W. My preference for looks is a 5W but I can tell you from experience that the "cabin" area inside a 3W is much roomier and is also much easier for an old fart like me to get in and out of.

    3W

My father, a hot rodder from the late 40's in LA, had always said that no one wanted 5W's back in the day because they were considered "girls cars".

5 Window looks more killer to me chopped and a low stance. Lacquer black with a few pin stripes and chromed 40 ford wheels with a High rpm 327 and 6X2's or 4X2's. :D

Well, I already have a 34 5 window, full fendered, so I would have to pick a 32 3 window, no fenders, then I would just have a reason to build the 53 Merc flattie thats sitting in the corner of the garage.

The answer is easy for me. I already have my ride, although it is in pieces. 32 5w, no chop, channeled, hood without sides. Gennie grill. Fenders welded high up on rear quarters .

Paint colors were (in order) white, then very lite powder blue then finally lime gold (the same hideous color ford painted their 67 mustangs) more of a metallic o.d. Green.

The car was a 50s drag car apparently from Tennessee, but I have zero historical info, I do plan to start a thread on thAt, since Kevin Tully at hot rod chassis made sense out of it. I plan to bring it back to some resemblance of it's past but will be running a 302, 4speed toploader and hilborn injection.

If I had to own a '32 it'd be a three window. It's the only thing that separates them from the Model A...... Hee Heee Heeee. Just kidding. Doyle Gammels car is what every three winder needs to look like.

I have owned both and like them both.....I still prefer the 3W becasue it is more elusive than the 5W and I have a model 5W coupe when I need a fix.

The style I prefer is late '50's to early '60's, early SBC 283-327 with lots of carbs and 4 speed !!

  19. I would take a sport coupe between all 3 coupes that were made in 32. But to vote between 3 or 5 window. I would take the 3 window.

Absolutely! If I can't have a roadster I'll take the 3 window. But we all know coups are for chickens, right?:D

The 32 3W has more room ... is easier to enter/exit and just LOOKS better to me ... :)

The ONLY advantage to me of a 5W is that they are a little easier to see out of ... when changing lanes. No semi-blind spot.

Finding parts for a 5W is also a good bit easier ... because some of the roadster/sport coupe/cabriolet/sedan parts will interchange. Almost nothing on a Murray built 32 Ford 3W coupe BODY will interchange with the other 32's.

    I have owned BOTH a 5W and the 3W ... plus a ROADSTER.
I actually prefer my 32 roadster to either the 3W or a 5W. There is just something about a open car on a nice summer evening ... riding with your wife ...

THIS POLL is running about the same ratio as 32's bought new. 22 thousand 3W's new verus 55 thousand 5W's new.
But then the three window cost about 85 dollars than the 5W

    Dear Mr. Jive Bomber,

Please forward to me the one million dollars and I will give you my answer.:D

But a un-biased opinion from a former 5 window owner, I am leaning towards a five window coupe.:)
