Cool, did you end up getting the straight axle from speedway and going to mount it above the axle?

Well, I never really considered my 55 to be a gasser, since it doesn't have a straight front axel, or radiused 1/4's, but here it is. Plus this is a good excuse to post pics of the new cheaters. :D:D:D

I took the pics with my dad's old camera. It's a Kodak Retina IIa, that was made in the early 1950's??? Hmmm.....Does that make it traditional style photography??? :D:D:D :eek::eek:

  13. Yeah I know it is. I spent all day helping Kevin. We removed the front clip when I dropped it off last Thursday. The frame rails are on. We put the motor and trans. in place with blocks so he can make the motor mounts. We test fit the front clip 4 times so he can get measurements.
I was just doing the small shit like painting parts so he can be done faster. But he did say that the car will still be there for the Beatnik Blowout so if you go you can see my car getting close to being done.
This guys work is phenominal which is why I went to him. This car is turning out so BITCHIN'.

    They are 28 3/4 x 8 1/2 x 15 Hurst piecrusts. They are mounted on 15 x 7 Americans.

They were a little tight to get on the car, but there was enough clearance after bolting them up. I had to unhook both rear shocks, and put a bottle jack between the frame and the rear axel. The tough spot was to get the tire between the brake drums and the fender lips.

The tough spot is changing a flat tire out on the road. I know first hand as I had a Pro-Street 40 sedan that I had to do the same thing. (form over function.... sure look great though :D )

  23. Kevin, got any fab pics of this buildup for my friend to see? He's watching this thread

I have the same problem as you with the tires that I have on my car now.

I just didn't know how big to order the piecrust to replace my old ones with.

Thanks for the reply and I love your ride......
