Some back story first. A fella my folks took on as a foster child for awhile 20 years ago got back in contact with my family recently. Well remembers he had picked up a one owner hudson years ago. So I asked what happened to it. To my suprise he said his brother had it in storage. I ask if he would sell it and he says yes. I set a time to go look. All the info I'm told is no motor/tranny, and its a 2 door. When I get to the storage this is what I see. I was given a what I thought was good price and told that If i wanted it to say so and he'd dig it out. Otherwise he wasn's wasting his time. So I took a gamble and said I'd take it. This is what I got. The car is missing one side of the windsheild, and the back glass. No motor/trans. But other than that, most trim looks to be in the back seat. Has a visor and back window louvers. NO RUST AT ALL. Pretty damn straight. So I know its a 1949, but whats the model? Commodore maybe? Whats this thing worth?

Congrats! Hope you made it home without creasing the front fenders and hood with that strap thats tied to the trailor instead of back to the car to hold the hood down. Thats a good way to crease them, if the car bounces any at all while traveling.
It looks like a Super (6 or 8). Nice car. In that condition, I would say it is around a $1200-$1500 car. The visor is 25% of the value if it is in good shape. I like the brougham's but coupes have more value. The bougham uses the sedan roof and trunk which results in the longer rear windows and, in my opinion, smoother lines. Nice find. Don
I got it for 500. Figured it was worth the gamble. And the owner gave me his word it was rust free. I feel good about it. What's the glass gonna cost me?
like I said I knew the owner from way back and his word was all I needed. I'm really thinkin sled project. Not sure about a chop yet but I see miles of potential. And it's not a merc!! My favorite part. Bet I won't pass many on the highway! Hehe.
The flat glass shouldnt be a problem to get cut,I had a couple cut locally for only 50 bucks. Hopefully someone else will chime in on here and say they have the curved glass they would sell or etc,etc. or do you have all of it?
I see some glass on ebay, just not sure what fits mine. Hornet the same? Looks like back is this model only.
There is absolutely no need to chop a Hudson! They look chopped from the factory- especially with the visor on. This was a great score- 2 dr Hudsons are getting pretty rare. There is a Hudson thread here, I think it is called "Let's see those Hudsons". They should be able to turn you onto a rear windshield. Keep us posted!
Great score!!! Those era Hudson's have some of the sweetest lines to them. Hope to see it running around these parts soon.
That's an awesome looking car. I love those slab sides, and it already looks low and mean. Make it a helluva cruiser and blast on down the road. If it were mine, I'd keep it simple, and just make it goooooooooooooooooooo... Nice car, nice price, and just right.
