i really dont get this ford vs chevy thing. they both made great cars.
    I love'em all really.

This said, the Nova is one of my favorite cars period, but this 500 would make a sweet custom fosho!
    i would keep both.

That's how it starts. First you buy one just to turn, then you end up fixing a bunch of stuff, then you start thinking about fixing it up a little more. Then one day you look around and wonder where the hell did all these friggin Fords come from?
Sell it quick, and get started on the Nova! :)

HAHAHA went to buy a chebby and came home with a real car. .02
I've wanted a Nova, like a 66/67 to put the driveline outta my Jag in.
Kinda a reverse swap. Make it a corner carver. Too much dough for the ruination though.

What does the 302 consist of ? Year , build work etc , reason I ask is because a lot people say a 302 won't pull a galaxie , but I think it would be fine for a nice cruiser

    302 will do just fine.
some came with a 289 factory, and it did the trick.

^ exactly , I have a 289 in mine , pretty tired ,but it cruises fine . Hard to do drive bys with though :D , I have thought about a 351 a few times , but I think a rebuilt 302 in my 64 would give me enough power to be happy

More updates on the Galaxie. Had to put the 289 oil pan & exhaust manifolds on the 302 . This is a '64 (289)...'79 (302) out of a 5.0 mustang. Also had to use the old motor mounts. I'll try to keep you FORD guys updated with pictures to come also.

Wow BB, I thought you were a hardcore chebby guy, but seeing the Ford as your avatar threw me for a loop, and when you said you weren't selling it I laughed. Good for you! What made you change your mind? It is good that you have come into the light, Grasshopper. :D

    BB,
As a Old Truck/Car Lover with a love of 53-56 F100's and 60-64 Fullsize Fords I say thanks for saving the car. Keep us posted. If I can do anything to help let me know. There is a old yard about 40 miles south of me here, South of Nashville, where the guy favors older Fords. Thanks again

Too bad you're not a little closer, I have three '63-'64 390's out in the shop, with manifolds, mounts, pulleys, everything to get you to FE heaven, easy and reasonable. If you got to play with a good 427 for a while, you'd be spoiled for life- the sound alone would do it. Admit it now, don't you love it when you close the door, and it sounds like a bank vault, not that tinny "Chebbie Clunk/Rattle"? "Quality is Job 1"- not "planned obsolescence" :p
