  2. Also in the parking lot was @R&C RON's cool 1940 Chevy Convertible Custom:

Pretty sure the 32 Roadster in picture #15 belongs to Gary Evans, Seabright Hot Rods, Santa Cruz........

Was working in one of the Lions Clubs booths for a while yesterday.

There was a good rod turnout, some exceptional quality (and yeah, the outfit selling the banger heads and stuff was probably THE drool-spot of the event) and a nice batch of Sunbeam Tigers, and some nice BMWs, but when it comes to the 'traditional' concours turnout the show seemed to be significantly smaller than I remembered it being a decade (or two) ago.

Didn't get any pics, I thought that little mid-engine aluminum roadster with the blown EFI V8-60 in it was a cute piece of work though I have no idea how it actually works...

What an amazing collection of cars. Now that's a showing!!!!! This is one of those cars that I can look past the fact that it's adorned with just about every rare part because it's beautiful.

However, if it were mine I would think that it could have reached the same result and cost a ton of cost off hunting down some of those "hens teeth" parts that are all over it. I love it though and if I could get my engine bay on my '33 to look the same (minus the Itallameccanica blower since I can't afford it) I would be more then stoked!

I had no idea this show even existed, from your shots it looks amazing! A definite must see next year.

  21. Dave (@Butcher Boy) -

I looked for you ... thought you might have your "49in7" Deuce Roadster on the grounds (since Ronald McDonald House is one of the many organizations that benefit from the proceeds of the Palo Alto Concours event).

We even drove over to the Stanford Shopping Center with the intent of picking up some "Fred's Steak" :) at your market ... but couldn't find a parking place

    I'm sure I'll see you in August (@ Pleasanton or @ B'ville).

  22. Dave (@A32Flathead) - The "FLATHEAD POWERED HOT RODS" and the "BONNEVILLE LAND SPEED CARS" were among the several "Exhibit Only" classes ... and therefore were not judged.

  23. You are correct ... I put the "???" as a place holder ... but forgot to go back and update the owners name ... it's fixed now.

I'm sure this car is something to see. Beautifully executed, well presented, etc. but everytime I see it it comes across as the 1932 version of a late model Impala SS with 24" wheels, fake continental kit, aftermarket sunroof, oversize sunvisor - ok, that's enough. I know you get my drift. A very nicely done early pimpmobile. Just my 2 cents worth.
