  6. i've seen a lot of those emblems offered from various sources. i believe that the SCTA is remaking some , but i know some are being made without any official approval.i wouldn't be sure of the pedigree of any of them unless i bought it right from SCTA

You can buy the pewter SCTA emblem at most any SCTA event......I have bought them at El Mirage every time I have gone........they are sold for $10 by SCTA but some shysters buy a big quantity of them and throw them up on eBay as *Original*......of course they are original as they are sold by SCTA......not rare at all......

But, as P.T. Barnum used to say.......* a sucker is born............*

Just add "1932 Ford" and you have the perfectly worded eBay title. :)

The original ones were made of brass, the later versions were made from pewter. I have a few brass ones that were given to me by Jack Underwood the SCTA historian.

Do you really need to update us with the sale price of every one of these? If everyone here posted the prices of every item on ebay that could be bought cheaper elsewhere........ Seriously let it go. Please.

Well, it's hard to hate on the guy... people that bid online can certainly research online as well. If they want to pay ridiculous prices then that's their own fault.

If you go out to El Mirage, the SCTA has a mobile sales trailer with ALL kinds of cool stuff at reasonable prices. I always take lots of $$ with me and spend it!

I ordered one and a new rule book from SCTA a minute ago. Looking at Ebay it appears that a lot of sellers think they can get many times the going price for something if they can relate it to SCTA.

Still it shows that no matter what you buy on Ebay or any place else do your homework and find out what the actual going price is and what a good deal actually is. That is just part of having a tad bit of common sense with the dollars you have to spend.

Especially a fool who doesn't do his research before he bids on that "rare" item.

I never been to el miragee or bunevile, do are top speed races on old highway 59 in Iowaa. Back in the 60's, guys had 390's,406's,427's,409's,426's, 413's, Fords ,mers, chevys, dodges. I lived along highway 59, we used to do all a '63 427 Ford or 409 chevy could do on that old narrow highway. I can still hear my buddys going by about midnight in the summer time with the bedroom window open. Icould hear them coming, then hear the roar and see theh blurr of lights as they raced by. Hell, west coast ain't got nuttin on us. It's easy to go fast on a nice flat, smooth closed race course! Takes real guts to do it on a highway. Course, I haveto go to the cemetary to see some of them guys.
