Where is the strangest place you went on HAMB at? Currently in Vietnam....

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by PhatCaddy, Mar 19, 2011.

  1. I recently HAMB'd in Ypres, Belgium; Bayeux, France; and Paris, France. Wanted to HAMB in Portugal, but I didn't have the internets.

I log on all over europe, bahrain, dubai and hong kong. Haven't tried afghanistan yet as I fly in and leave in about four hours time. You can pretty much get a HAMB fix about anywhere. For those countries and governments that would block the HAMB, who wants to be there anyway?

Fukushima #4 reactor building a few years ago. It did not seem strange at the time but I dont think I will ever be able to do that again.

  5. Well I knew a guy that went on the lamb in Vietnam but never anyone that went on the HAMb in vietnam.

I guess it has something to do with my age but I just never considered vietnam to be a vacation spot.

  8. Edit:
    ......TMI.....

I suppose that you are honoring the dead the best way that you can. I am sure it is a nice place to visit during peace time. For me if I can, I dwell on the funny stuff but the other stuff still sneaks in there.

48 Chev I guess we have something in common, that river is not a good place to wash your feet.

Anyway back on topic I suppose the strangest place I ever post from was the 3rd floor men's room in the HNTB building in Down town KC. I was on the crapper and asked one of the project Engineers if I could use his laptop. He just chuckled and passed it under the divider to me. I aint gonna tell you what he was looking at.

  11. I heard that China is one of the countries that is trying to monitor internet use, but we do have a fella from China that logs on pretty regularly.

Lots of times I look at where peoples profiles say that they are located and it always amazes me how many people we have from about everywhere imaginable.

I don't travel around much any more if I had been a HAMBer when I was younger I would probably have a pretty good list of obscure places. I know that a good part of it has to do with military service (thanks by the way) but some of you fellas are pretty well traveled. I like to see that, too many people never leave their neighborhood.

Toes in the water, ass in the sand, not a care in the world a cold Coke in my hand... life is good in Cancun boys!

Been here for a few days and have logged in every one of them. Heading home Sunday, and minus the complete lack of hot rods I could LIVE here!

On a ship off of Cape Horn at the extreme southern tip of South America, nearest town was Ushuaia, Argentina. Three days later I logged on from the city of Stanley on the Falkland Islands. Not many traditional rods on the Falklands but a truckload of Land Rovers.
