I have a subscription to Rodder's Journal, But It's so nice that most of the time I leave it in the plastic, put with the rest, and go read one at the bookstore.
_My sub. to Rod and Custom ran out and I'm kinda over it (sorry R&C).
I'm becoming a big fan of traditional Rod and Kulture after reading my older issues. I might subscribe to them great articles, high quality paper and printing, and amazing photos. I have back issues of most the other magazines and in my opinion they are mostly all crap.
My advice....save your magazine money and buy a HAMB Alliance membership if you haven't already. At least then your gonna get you money back in vender savings! Also find me one thing in a magazine you can't see or read or ask about on here.

The Rodder's Journal is by far THE best publication out there... all the others are waaaaay back there in comparison.

I am still a fan of Car Kulture Deluxe. They usually have some awesome show coverage, and they have some very very nice customs. Ol' Skool Rodz is hit or miss.

Traditional Rod and Kulture, although I think it may only be quarterly? Dig the cars and the tasteful pinups. Wish they would go monthly...

  12. Hot Rod Deluxe or Car Craft.
Hot Rod is the only one I carry a subscription to, though. I like their wider view of the hobby, as I do like late model performance, etc. I could do without the high dollar, billet dripping stuff they carry, though. To each his own, just not my taste. Obviously, I like the traditional stuff best.

The Rodder's Journal all the way! Second would currently have to be Hot Rod Deluxe. It used to be Rod & Custom, but the coverage is leaning WAY too much to customs the last few months.

Unfortunately, none of them are as informative as they were in the 50's-60's!
I still subscribe to Rod & Custom and Street Rodder...50 year old habits are hard to break!!

I just let my Rod & Custom expire - too many 1-800 and $1,000,000 cars - I'm thinking to switch to Kustom Illustrated.

I have not bought a magazine in about 3 or 4 years. I used to buy them all, and then one day I started thinking about all the money I wasted.

I have been reading Rod and Custom and Hot Rod since Jan 1960, the prices to subscribe are great. I like the Old Timers articles in R&C and the Hot Rod editor is a fun person to read. Street Rodder and I also go back to Vol. 1 #1.

  25. Street Rodder, unfortunately. I just try to not look at the blingy stuff and the mega $$ rides....
