One thing I haven't seen mentioned here is if you view the page in full screen (f11) your # doesn't show up, you have to shrink the screen to see it. It took me a while to figure that out as I always view full screen. #117066

 

This is a pretty cool thread.....I am number 488. I remember after one of the board crashes a lot of people lost a bunch of posts and they were teed off because they went from being an a full fledged "member" (i think it was after 100 posts) back to being an FNG! I also remember those ramblings by Germ, and who of the early guys remember Fecals the Clown?!!!! That was some funny s*%t!!!

i sort of wished i would have registered first instead of lurking. i still don't think i would have been in the first 500. attending the first hunnert car pileup and meeting other hambers was what made me decide to join.

 

Just found this thread. Guess I'm #130, probably joined in 2000, I know it was before the crash and reset. I had a lot more posts in those days. I'll never forget my "technology sucks" comment that got me 5 pages of flames. All was forgiven. I just can't keep up nowadays, too many posts to keep track of. I joined while I was still in high school.

I bet, actually that was 11 but I was making the math simple.

 

I Heard about the board from "Fonzi" #110) in So. Cal. and then from "krupanut"(#257) in Texas so I lurked from 2000 to 2003 didn't want to deal with Germ (#220) until I was ready to build another car!

In case anyone hasn't seen a Germ post... they look like this...

I joined shortly after seeing "SamIams"(#13) car ("Roachy") being built and have been to the second "Lone Star Round Up" and the second "Hunnert Car Pile Up"...!

Anyone remember how many members were on the board before the crash? Was it around 1-2 thousand members?
