  5. Nice picture Bob. Nice '55s Neal, very cool. You too GAV.
Quick sketch is about all I have time for. This was an idea a guy ran past me a while back.
He wondered what a '46 For would look like with a GM "torpedo", as he put it, roof and full fade away fenders. I chose the '48-'51 Fleetline roof and Buick-ified fades. Probably would be easier to graft the Ford front clip to a Buick...
I may pursue this drawing further some time down the road...

How about a re-pop '55 gasser or 2, of my own?

I usually draw cars and bikes I would want to drive. Not own, just drive. This one however I would like to own. Of course then I wouldn't have any time to draw cars and bikes. Such is the dilemma of the artist.

    Scratchboard titled: "El Mirage Triumph"

  8. That's amazing Bo! Here's a bike too...

Nice work guys - Cool bike Bomonster. I like the layout of the piece. Like always, I love the diversity here...

This art show has given me the fuel to keep sketching each week. Below are two of my submissions. No.18 & No.19 I'm still trying to get a line on my sketch style but I'm liking the loose stuff right now. Also, Any critiques are welcome - It'll just help me improve... :D

    Thanks!

Supermoto, I don't critique unless asked. Since you asked, your work is nice, loose and expressive. Love everything about #19 but I think you might want to add a slight amount of contrast to make it feel more dimensional. Like replace the tan shadow with a dark gray one and darken your tires a bit. Maybe darken the interior shadows slightly as well.

I think the same contrast comments would help #18 too. I like the looseness of the truck but not the 18 graphic in the corner. Drafting a better rendered 18 like your signature would make the whole piece a bit more professional looking. Not sure how I feel about the perfectly mechanically rendered tires against the loose truck lines. Freehand round might look more interesting against the freehand truck lines. Then again darker tires may hide the perfect lines better too.

Overall, very nice. Good autograph too.

You might like Smarjoram's work here on past FAS posts. His work is killer loose.

    Thanks Jigger!

Thanks for your comments Bo, Love your work. Looking back at the illustrations, I agree with your comments on #18's tires. I'll give it a shot with loosening them up. I also agree with the #18 logo, I'm trying to come up with some sort of standard I can modify slightly with each sketch. My goal is to just keep numbering them in order. Not trying to get commercial but trying to develop a consistent style across all of the sketches I produce. Thanks again for the input. I'm here to learn and to get inspired and hopefully inspire others...

I just got the latest HR magazine last night. Flipping through it I got stuck on page 77 with the Raybestos illustration. I was mesmerized looking at all of the details then I saw that it was "Norwell Equipped" Seriously great stuff and thanks for the positive words!

Got a pair of shoeboxes this week. One is for the shirts for a local car show some of my buddies are putting on and the second is a car that I have had in my head for some time now. This is my dream car! Its the start to my newest design for my own shirt line.
