THATS WHY I PUT MY FIRE SUIT ON WHEN I DID THE THREAD....I feel the heat but am not burning. Ford freaks ought to be thanking me for saving the 500.

Had a buddy who had a boat he kept at lake Erie. Used nothing but big block Chevies, and was always worried about it holding up. The he got his first big Ford engine and was never worried again. Said all he had to do was hook a chain to it, and it was the best anchor he ever owned.

Heres a little tune I used to sing back in the mid 70s. Goes to the sound of Jingle Bells

Buy a ford, buy a ford, buy a ford today, drive it around and wreck it up then buy a Chevrolet.

While cleaning out the trunk of my newly bought GALAXIE , i find a full set of seat covers & head liner still in the boxes. Maybe FORDS are'nt all that bad after all. (did i just say that )

a lifetime of beating yourself to death working on GM and you finally see the light, huh? at least you won't need a BFH to work on the Galaxie.

  14. Im torn. They both look like great cars. Ive owned both Chevys and Fords.

    HA-welcome!

You need someone to show you where the distributer is so you can get her timed right?

We'll send someone from the Chevrolet intervention team shortly and they'll get you all fixed up!

(Just kidding I like them ALL too. Sweet ride)

  19. Francisco,
I learned a long time ago to never bend down near a GM product. But you should remember this one thing if you don't remember anything else, a hungry dawg is always the best dawg to have in the pit. :D

Before you get all blind-sided by the "GM is sooo superior" litany, just go out and open the door. (drivers, passengers, either.) Open it all the way, feel the solidity of the hinges. Now close the door. (if it's in 'near adjustment', you won't have to slam it)

Now go do that to a chevy. There IS a difference.
