Event Coverage (((Old Pomona Car Show July 2nd is here again, FREE FREE FREE!!)))

Hey Guys, the Old Town Pomona car show is almost here again! Last year was a huge success for being a first time show and we're counting on this year to be even better! This is a pre '65 show for traditional Hot Rods, Kustoms, and Restored originals. Also, Bobber, Cafe style, and original bikes welcome! The best part is the Free car entry and Free admission! There will be 4 bands playing live music all day, DJ's, food, vintage vendors, and a $300 cash purse for best of show!

The show will be hosted by us, the Shifters Car Club. It will be a benefit show and all proceeds will go to Pomona's Youth Recreation Programs. The location is Thomas Square in downtown Pomona CA off 2nd street and the date is Saturday July 2nd 2011 from 10 am to 7 pm. This location is great with lots of Turn of the century and Art Deco buildings that surround the show. Also, this is the antique district so there are tons of vintage and antique stores all up and down the block!

There will also be a BIG after party this year right across the street at the restored 1930's Fox Theater! The party will be up on the roof of the theater with three bands, DJ, full bar, and a fantastic view of the city lights!

Wow guys, sounds like a great day and it's a whole 10 minutes away from me! Is it actually restricted to traditional, HAMB-type cars?

For the people that went last year, how long was the line in? Was it one of those deals that starts at 10am but you have to get in line at 7am?

 

Hey Dennis, yes it will be mostly HAMB friendly cars! This is a fairly small show still so there shouldn't be a long line to get in. lookin forward to seeing you there!

I'd glady cough up a few bucks for addmission to benefit youth programs.

Most of the money will be coming from the vendors. But donations will be gladly accepted too.

We're looking good for the swapmeet. Should know more within the next few days.

 

I'll be there, here's to a "Back to Basic" car show, no BS, just Customs and Hot Rods, good people and so on. I whish I knew about last year too. But got word from Joe and Vic. Can't wait!

I had a great time last year.I had plans on going and had it marked on the calender till i heard the dreaded words from my better half "we have plans that day". I think I might be coming down with a stomache flu that day then miraculously get better.
