The one on the left is a '46 Ford: ribbed stainless, stainless around the windows and the strips on the decklid.

  7. I'm kind of in the same boat you're in except I'm in the part of that boat where I'm one of those guys who can't afford anything for now. I can barely afford to maintain and put gas in the appliances I drive.

It does have a nice Packard look to it, this is a Buick for sure though.

I'm quite fond of these, I have a 25 shell hanging on one of my walls!

Here are a few in Illinois. Not sure what the sedan is.....Early 50's Chevy or Pontiac???? The truck cab is 1955 - 1959 Chevy / GMC and of course there is a T chassis..

Not a car, but here is a working Bennett 966 gas pump that I found. I should be bringing it home shortly.

  16. Good ol' Mike Yager, "Chief Cheerleader" of Mid America.... if you ever get a chance to go to his house in Effingham, IL, about 3 miles from MAM, do so.... I doubt you'll ever see another swimming pool shaped like a Chevy Bowtie...
Used to go there every summer to cover a VW event for the magazines... he'll have someone take you up in an airplane, to get the "aerial shot", buy you an awesome dinner...if you need it, he'll see that you get it. Quite a pleasant guy, to boot.... except if you take a Pro Stock VW with close to 300 hp, with slicks and a spool, for a "spin" around the front lawn of the Corporate Office... I offered to stay an extra day and replace the sod, but he said it was okay; he had a Landscape Maintenance Service that would take care of it for him/me.
His MY Garage ( MY for Mike Yager) is quite the place, too.

So I went up and picked up my auction stuff ya know,,,,,
Spent two days nipping stuff apart with the torch so the little wife and I could fit it all in the trailer in one trip. On the second day I herd this Dodge diesel coming down the drive to the back forty and pulled up in front of the forty ford. Didn't think much about it till I herd this loud ass "CRUNCH". I thought,, Oh-No,, He backed into that truck.
Hear I found out it was one of them ( DUMB ASS NO BRAIN FRICKIN SCRAPER DIP SHITS !!! ). You guys know who you are,,,,, Hear he wrapped a chain around the radiator,,, Hooked it to the back of his truck,, And gave it the boot. These guys,,,, I'm surprised they can live very long with there head so far up there fucking ass! Wow man,,,,:mad::mad:
I'll get the hell off my soap box now. Man,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,.

No, you're right. Nondescript nerfballs on wheels.
Even the car ads are so bland. All they say is what kind of mileage it gets and what the payments are!
    Man,I miss the 60's.....

  28. There is a Hamber dying to get that Fairlane Squire exterior trim! I tried to buy a car up here to strip for him but it's a no sale for now. If he sees this he will definitely be contacting you....I lost his contact info.

    Quick note...
Pic is of one for sale I know about. RUSTY.
    ratmotor:
I was following that "wanted" thread. don'y you remember, he then advertised it for sale because he couldn't get the trim. He sold it to another guy on here a few months ago in CA for $600.+-.

Keep trying to buy that one by you, though - I'd be interested if you ever get it for parts.
