I have to say this Caddy has influenced what I love in a traditional car. I shot this at Hot August Nights two years ago in Reno... I don't know much about who built it or who owns it, but I love this car...

I like Dan Houck's '50 Ford out of Jrs. House of Color..but then again I may be biased.

For sure: Cole Foster's 36 Ford, Blue Collar Customs 56 Ford P/U, and Ian Berkley's 52(?) Chevy

Most influential Customs, here are a few of my thoughts. I'm not going to list my favorites, my list would be a little different, but influential. Not in any particular order. Richard Zocchi's 39 Dodge coupe and his 56 Chrysler Windsor. Such great mods in both and the Windsor really shows both some modern and classic. I love the treatment all around on the Dodge and it was a strong influence on me as a kid. The Jerry Yacht '40 Merc. Love the rear window, the chop, can't say enough. Again another car the was a huge driving force in where I am today with Customs. And last but not least, and I know there will be a few nay sayers, but whatever. Cadzilla. The car is just badass. Both modern and original, classic but contemporary. In my opinion it is influential because it took young guys like me at the time away from muscle cars, or street cars, and showed that Kustoms are really awesome.

Flame me if you will. But is this question a little broad in scope? There have been several "Influential" Mild customs as well as Radical. My addled brain sees these as two distinctly different animals. I'm certainly not trying to imply one is prefferable to the other. That said, there are many fine rides posted here that are worthy of being called "Influential".

  10. Then talkin about tail draggers, i think this Desoto and the Green Winsdor
have been pretty influential to guys buildin the same style rides,
Both have been around since at least the early '00s.
I might be wrong, but i always thought this was the case.
    Great Example of Ass Dragers!

I dont think anyone has mentioned Tranny John's (from inland empire Ca) wild custom truck.

His was one of the first modern built, wild full-customs that I remember seeing...

Ill have to look for a pic.

ps. what ever happend? did you finish the poster Mcphail?

Tranny John's Stude truck defiently left an impression on me, I think the first time I saw it was close to 20 years ago and I'm only 31. It looks great now that it's finished. And being from Sac I have to say Hetfields 36 that Blue Collar did is towards the top of my list.

Not a perfect side shot, but it shows the sides a bit better. The Thinman took this photo some time ago.

I've seen the car before, but don't think I've ever seen any straight on side shots, anybody got one?

    Good call on "Franken chevy"

Also how about that "Bat fink" truck???

THanx! i wonder how he went from that 1st attempt to the crazy all out version...

What is the date on the 1st and 2nd picture?
I can read '98 on the 3rd and 4th, so not that far from what i thought it was the debut year, or was it earlier?

Thanx a lot Chipman, those are great.
Its nice to see the evolution of the car, its nice when someone sticks to a car so many years and you can see all the changes both in style and craftsmanship durin the years.....

Thecruger, that would fit better in the mild customs thread, beautiful car.
