Talked to my pop last night, he is in Loma Linda about 4 miles south. He's fine but understandably shaken. Thanks for those that called and PM'd with your concern... Prayers and positive thoughts for Joplin and the good people that live there.
I'm about 70 miles south east of Joplin and can't believe how bad this storm was. There was the sound of constant thunder and lightning for about 2 hours. When the storm was moving you could hear about the path it was taking and you would immediately think about all the HAMB brothers and sisters that lived in the area it was headed toward. Tornado alley is a scary place to live. Our prayers go out to all affected. Keep us posted. Later, Dick
Wondering the same, His house is so near to The path, just east of St.John's Hospital. His GF lives just a block from me, I will hobble to her house as soon as the rain quits. Will let you know. His house and shop are on opposite ends of Joplin, but both near the path.
This is just terrible news. Thought and prayers go out to all involved. I wish there was something I could do to help.
My thoughts out to all of you folks! Lived in the Midwest most my life and know how bad storms can get. Wishing you all the best! Hope all the HAMB fam can be accounted for and are safe...
Sending my thoughts out to everyone affected by this disaster. I wish I was in a position to be able to help.
Prayers sent to everyone in and around Joplin area. The storms rolled thru Missouri all along the same path. We had storm after storm following each other. Alert more storms today expected and the next few days too. Thanks to the Hamb and everyone checking in on each other and wanting to help and getting word to members, friends and family.
Anybody know about Chuck Comer? He's not a HAMBer, but he's a regular at the Drags. Has a huge collection of cars, and may have been in the path.
Someone in the chat posted this radio link. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/emergency-radio-feed This is tough to watch/listen to while the tornado blows over. http://youtu.be/cQnvxJZucds
Man I hope everyone is ok. I am really starting to hate tornadoes. Praying for all those folks out there.
Video that shows the path of the Joplin tornado. I dont know how accurate it is. http://www.tripline.net/trip/Path_of_the_Joplin_Tornado-0424207775021003AD43C13C53060EBC
All, brother (WZ JUNK) and family are fine. WZ lives about 15 miles south of Joplin but another huge tornado went south of them. John's son and daughter-in-law live in Joplin but they text'd that they were o.k. It's really bad over there. I live about 180 miles east on I-44. Folks from my area are going over to help. They are calling for doctors, nurses and firefighters. I-44 was closed due to the amount of vehicles blown over. Sam
Talked to Bob Massey who owns Metel Works he lost his house and part of the roof on his shop but everything in the shop was ok. All the other building around him were down. But he is ok thats the main thing.
The folks at Pete & Jakes have heard from him. He lost his house. He has not been able to check on his shop yet.
Would SOMEONE please get ahold of Carl, MoKanMan and make sure him and his loved ones are ok. I don't have any contact info for him.
Looking for Sue, Jim or Brooksie Sterrett---Sue lives on Virgina, Brooskie lives on Monroe, I think Jim is on Illinois. If anyone can tell me I would be so appreciative, I'm up in Chicago and can't get thru.
