  4. Binga, I'm curious. Did the heat from welding in your drip rail patches take care of your oil canning roof? Any shrinkage?

  5. Because all of the welding on the roof was near a bend or a seam there was no noticeable effect on the oil canning.

  6. Found a better shot of the new drip rail welded in.

After stripping the roof with a 3m disc it was on to the fun stuff, filler

    And sanding

    and primer

That's the Australian 302 Cleveland, that's also what the closed chamber 2 barrel iron heads come off that's about the best iron head for a "fake" Boss 302.

  15. Thanks for the offer I maybe PM'ing you soon.

The rear of the cab had been repaired in its previous life and not very well.

A quality build Binga! Thank for lick starting the thread Scotty.

    Now.... I spot a '32 Roadster..... Info/pics please!!

    HC.

  20. Thanks for the comments guys.

The 32 roadster is an original Australian built car and was at one time channelled.
It spent a good part of its life in the School of Mines here in Ballarat and was bought by someone in Melbourne where my mate bought it from an add in The Age newspaper when he was 16 years old.
Its getting a flatty and a dropped axle on original suspension.
Sorry no pics i forgot to take any.....doh

    :-(
Oh and there's a garden gnome standing in the corner hahah

  22. I better keep updating this thread so Scott can post his color photos, he gets all sooky when I don't let him play.

I had the underside of the bonnet, hood, blasted but stripped the top with a 3m disc to try and keep the warping to a minimum.
Even got the Gnome in on the act.

had a little rust in the front.

After patching a little mud work.

I didn't get a pic of how bad the left door was but we made a new skin and welded it on

and we had to do a little work on the other door as well.

  24. Not sure what you mean its all there and it works great.
Didn't wear it the day before and felt the effects all night at work.

It's a top quality bit of gear for sure, but you don't have a particle (dust) filter on the front of it. The gas filter you have will get blocked up with shit and stop working very quickly without it. It really needs all the bits in the picture to work properly.

  26. Thanks for the advice Todd I'll have to look into where the rest of it is, I borrowed it of my mate and thought it was all there.
This is my first time painting more than a couple of small items so a lot of this is new to me.
